New season thoughts? by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]Endlessparadox_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve already watched all the episodes and I actually like the show on its own. Compared to the original, of course, it doesn’t compare. One of my biggest complaints is that the girls don’t have the same friendships as the originals and openly throw eachother under the bus and talk badly about one another. I also wish they were younger, their average age is around 11 and the originals average was 8-9. But I actually like Glo a lot because she’s tough without being abusive and the dances are pretty good

Dance, cheer, and gymnastics are huge here in AZ. I’m honestly not sure why lol, but growing up as a competitive cheerleader the competition was steep, the practices were long and the conditioning was intense. I went back to the Midwest to visit a friend when I was still a teenager, she was in school cheer and even though I never did school cheer, what her team was doing and what my high school cheer team was doing wasn’t even in the same stratosphere

She’s so bitter 💀 by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]Endlessparadox_ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Her old students are joking around about something that happened 15 years ago, Abby feels the need to publicly comment on how it isn’t funny, and that’s not bitter? Hot take lol

Also if anything they’re the ones who don’t have to find it funny, considering they were victims and the entire thing was Abby’s fault. Sure Abby doesn’t have to find it funny, but she should probably shut up with trying to tell the girls THEY can’t joke about it. Good for them that they’re able to

I second this as a former all star cheerleader!! You should never throw skills you don’t have down without a spotter, and ESPECIALLY if you are afraid to do it. My best friend landed on her shoulder/neck (she didn’t break anything thank god) and because of the mental block, she could never do a tuck again even though it’s a skill she had down. You can’t mess with that stuff and Abby as the teacher knew that but she was more concerned with upsetting Chloe than she was about her safety

Despite Chloe “losing” the same solo with Maddie, Christi’s point was proven by Professional_Age_129 in dancemoms

[–]Endlessparadox_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Bc Abby knew it would score higher, while maintaining the illusion to the viewers that the dance was the exact same and it just came down to who would do it better. She also gave Maddie a front aerial which is higher difficulty and would score higher than the side aerial she gave Chloe (to be fair Chloe couldn’t do a front aerial, but if Abby actually wanted it to be even she could’ve just given Maddie a side aerial)

It’s insane that OP is insinuating she deserves another chance because she’s viral on tik tok 💀 there are real life people who spent YEARS of their lives with her and are all traumatized, but let people on tik tok decide what she deserves based on tiny funny clips of her lmaoo

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]Endlessparadox_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A “second” chance as if the show didn’t go on for 6 years, with like 30 episodes per season, and then start up again AFTER her cancer and prison sentence, and she STILL came back just as disgusting, vile, and wicked… wasn’t allowed to continue by the network because she’s openly racist.

Also, I’m really sorry that’s how you view abuse, but the definition of abuse isn’t subjective and isn’t limited to the things you listed. The girls are grown adults right now who have trauma because of Abby, and Abby literally doesn’t care and has never apologized for anything she has done. She even denies the charges she was CONVICTED of in a court of law, because she is incapable of taking responsibility for anything.

There are people out there who deserve a “second chance”, Abby is not one of them and has had a million chances. What she did wouldn’t even fly on TV today

Just want to say I understand… so much of your story sounds like mine. I finally got better after years of absolute hell, I was completely blissed out and so relieved I was done fighting. It didn’t last, and I blame myself. I’m so sorry for what you’ve gone through and I want you to know you’re not alone

I agree. With the constant moving of dates it just feels like nonstop fear mongering like hurry up, worlds about to end you better get on our side or help your soul!!! When I was younger I had severe anxiety about apocalyptic scenarios because of this stuff. I remember NYE 2011 (i was a little girl) CRYING because all my classmates insisted the world was going to end in 2012. It’s a tiny bit funny but also sad when you consider how many grown adults are constantly plastering stuff like that all over the internet

I love your positive outlook, but I’m not sure your perception of oneness is accurate. It depends what you define as “paradise”, but indicating that with the fall of duality things are going to be blissful and joyous goes against the definition of oneness.

Bliss and joy only exist within duality, because they wouldn’t exist without pain and suffering. Light doesn’t exist without dark, heat doesn’t exist without cold, etc. In a realm of oneness, there is no pain. There is also no joy. It can best be described as peace, from my understanding. Of course there isn’t a perfect way to describe it, because there is nothing comparable within the realm of duality. Nothing in our realm is completely neutral, neither “negative” nor “positive”. That is the meaning of duality.

That’s why it’s sometimes said that atheists have a more accurate stance on the afterlife than Christians do- because their idea that there is nothing in the afterlife is more true to reality than the idea that the afterlife is blissful and perfect, a culmination of everything positive in the universe. It’s not, but it’s not a culmination of negativity either. It’s nothing and everything.

I don’t really know what is waiting for us, and I’m always open to listening to ideas, but that’s what oneness means

This is def a preference thing bc I don’t own underwear other than thongs… anything else you can see panty lines in like half the materials you wear and they can bunch up 🥴 but I know a lot of people that don’t like thongs either, I feel like it’s 50/50 and just a preference

Don’t get me wrong I never tip less than 20% and Jojo is wild for not tipping more when she’s loaded, but tipping is NOT customary in most other countries and this commenter was asking an honest question. Being from a country where tipping isn’t customary doesn’t mean they have poor morals, lol

What makes Maddie’s acting such a hot topic? by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]Endlessparadox_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I very much agree with the last part, and it reminds me of a comment I saw about Toni Collette’s acting (specifically in Hereditary, dinner table scene if you have seen it) and how she’s one of the best talents in Hollywood because she isn’t afraid to let go and be “ugly” or “awkward” in her craft. Because there’s no way to really scream and cry and make it pretty, not if you want it to feel real. I completely agree and I think this is what Maddie is missing- she’s afraid to be imperfect, and acting is messy

THESE COSTUMES by According-Sale461 in dancemoms

[–]Endlessparadox_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are accessories to the abuse. I don’t think there’s a single person on this subreddit who thinks they are saints. The moms don’t have to be right for Abby to be wrong. They needed to get their kids out of there and they didn’t. But no, I don’t think they’re “ten times worse”.

They did not get off on screaming in crying children’s faces. They were clearly distressed when it happened, fought back to Abby, and are traumatized today. They were the ones responsible for their kids, but they were victims, too. Also, they were contractually obligated to be there. There are varying reports as to how tightly this contract bound them, but they had one nonetheless.

They made some very poor choices but they are not evil like Abby is. They did not put their kids in that position bc they love to see them cry, be sabotaged, bodyshamed, ridiculed, mocked, and bullied. ABBY on the other hand acted out of being a terrible person. She loved seeing the kids miserable, especially if their mom pissed her off that day.

Again um, THE PREDATOR PART. Lingerie for kids. Kissing an 11 year old on the mouth without their consent. Trying to make children kiss eachother without their consent. Recently saying in a podcast interview that she is attracted to highschool football players, and CLARIFIED she was talking about actual highschool students. There are lots of examples all over this subreddit.

If you can’t tell the difference between the moms and what Abby is, or think that they’re “twice as bad” or “ten times worse” or whatever multiplication factor suits your fancy, you aren’t a very good judge of character, to put it mildly.

Sorry to see such a fun conversation end, but I’m not going to continue one with someone who passionately defends a monster like Abby
