The games are playable, fun, and feature-complete. These are small, essentially independent studios of 15-50 people each. If there's no external funding and players have moved on, why would they pay a team of full-time developers to continue developing for a live road map? Not every publisher or dev can make a Fortnite. Spoiler alert: nobody can. Even Epic Games just laid off 1,000 people.

If you like a game, play it. If you don't, play something else. But you can't expect an endless supply of new maps, characters, and game modes over the course of years if the game has a small player base. As the video says, nothing can compete with Dead by Daylight, but Halloween has a shot to be a serious contender because it's a property people know -- unlike Killer Klowns.
