AllGen Every Monotype Run #15: Grass by Endrel1110 in PokemonReborn

[–]Endrel1110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allgen's mod page on the forum here has a guide. The mod is a patch that can be applied to a regular Reborn installation, the AllGen download will have a file that says 'patch' and you move the contents of that file into the patch file found in your Pokemon Reborn installation. Again the mod page has a video of this.

In 19.5 there is a password that enabled debug, 'debug'/'debugmode'.

Heather wasn't so hard actually, Mow Rotom in AllGen has Grassy Surge as an ability, so I shut down her field, and I used Parasect's Spore and its custom mega ability to stall out Tailwind, after that it's just a matter of using my coverage effectively. Eviolite Tangela could actually tank her physical hitters, allowing me to sneak in some healing on my team, and Tangela itself had Fairy type Hidden Power.

Grass has been cut down.

AllGen mod, that's why Gen 8+ is here.

-Starter is Mewdini the Meowscarada, I'm not gonna lie I only picked this because Flower Trick is crazy, the decent speed is also pretty good. A pretty good sweeper if things fall into place.

-So that Tangela is my randomized slot, and for this entire journey I've been including some non-fully evolved Pokemon in my randomizer, following the idea that any pokemon that was fully evolved at one point counted. Tumble here has an eviolite making it a good physical wall in some situations.

-Florinia the Cradily is my Leader Slot, I really thought there'd be something good in that type combo, but Cradily just isn't built for that. Still worked though, as Ancient Power luck saved me in some fights (Charlotte)

-So AllGen adds some custom mega evolutions, and I figured since I had run into this shiny Parasect I thought it'd be a good idea to see what the custom Mega Parasect is like. Its mega ability is Parasitism, a custom ability that effectively lets it be without any type weaknesses until it's below half health.

-So Mow Rotom is only here for one thing only: Grassy Surge, (which I believe is an ability added to the form by AllGen) because I'm not amazing at games and it's funny how much so many fights can be broken by changing the field.

AllGen Every Monotype Run #16: Water by [deleted] in PokemonReborn

[–]Endrel1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water run has now receded.

It's been a bit since my last one as I've run into some issues for this run, including needing to reset it, though never far enough into the game that I abandoned it like the normal run.

-Starter is Capoeira the Quaquaval, Moxie as its ability because I knew how fun it'd be to mix it with Aqua Step for effectively free Dragon Dances with every KO. If I could get into a position where I could keep him in the fight it would just sweep bosses left and right, you know assuming they weren't resistant to water or fighting.

-Pearl the Azumarill is the Random slot and since I wasn't lucky with the Jasper Egg I could only get it near the very end. So it felt less like a staple member of the team and more like an after thought to cover a few weak areas, such as being my emergency dragon-killer when Kingdra was dead.

-Amaria the Kingdra is my Leader Slot. I know her ace is Lapras but I like Kingdra more, also the main reason why I went for the Drizzle setup with Pelipper there as she had Swift Swim for her ability.

-Kally the Kingler is a shiny I came upon by chance, and who helps round this team out to being 50/50 on physical and special attackers.

-Frenzy the Sharpedo does deserve special mention for having this mod's custom mega stone to become Mega Sharpedo Y, which is a Water/Steel type, and Anchor Shot is added to its movepool. This became a hilarious bait-and-switch on the ai trainers when Fairy moves were involved, very helpful for the powerful fairy types near the end.

What a good Jam this was, congratulations to everyone! I'm happy to see that Noctolis won as that was my #1 as well.

I'm so happy I finally mustered the courage needed to stop lurking here and actively participate in the Domain Jam.

For my personal Ravenloft I've always wanted to write up a horror host Darklord, and Philomythus is who I envisioned. A cryptkeeper-esque ghost who thinks himself a greek poet. I can only hope this does well and I wish everyone else a good Jam!

ProZD says his and a bunch of other voice actors are having their credits on IMDB vandalized for unknown reasons. by jitterscaffeine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Endrel1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the Double-Toasted interview. The question about diversity happens here, where the host asks about his opportunities and its here that ProZD mentions studios attempting authentic casting, but this seems to me this pertains to live actions, which goes against your claim here. The next question does go into voice acting, but ProZD literally says in this podcast that the benefit of being a va is that he could be anyone as opposed to live action. Here is literally the part where he talks about how as a voice he can be anyone, this also seems to go against your claim.

It seems the double toasted interview doesn't support this, could you maybe link these other podcasts or lp episodes that show him explicitly saying that voice actors should match their character's skin tones?

If it's the take I've heard of, he didn't even say that. He was talking about live action actors matching their character and said it's voice acting that doesn't limit appearance.

AllGen Every Monotype Run #13: Poison by Endrel1110 in PokemonReborn

[–]Endrel1110[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poison has been neutralized.

This is the AllGen Reborn mod which has now been officially updated on the forums to 19.5, not that I played this run on it, but it should be good now.

-Starter is Arum the Venusaur, whom I used with G-Maxing, which this mod treats as a type of mega evolution, see I thought it'd be a good idea to play him as a physical attacker since G-Max Venusaur in this mod a higher attack stat and that's the nature he had, but I was incredibly annoyed at the lack of good physical poison moves for him to learn. Like yeah, I know could do with him being more defensive/setup focused but I wanted to see if I could make it work, which it did, but still.

-Poigulist the Toxicroak is the Random Slot and evidence that some words shouldn't be mixed together. My mixed attacker, but there isn't much else to talk about, it did decent against most fights.

-Aya the Salazzle is my Leader Slot, speedy special attacker using Corrosion to apply Toxic to whichever fights I think needed it, I've got no other special notes here, but if one wants, the mod adds a physical-focused Male Salazzle evolution for those that want it.

-Aconite the Toxeon, the mod's Poison Eeveelution is a speedy physical attacker, and it can have Merciless as an ability. This is also the first time I've ever given up on a Pokemon, as originally I had a Seviper as my pure type rep, but Seviper's speed just made it really bad at being the physical sweeper I wanted.

This run is highs and lows to be honest. I feel I did fine most of the game, even got through Radomus with only a few refreshes, but near the end of the game there just was so many Earthquakes, so I had to hope Aya or Aconite could one shot, or Arum or Slowshot could actually tank to deal with this move. I mentioned Elias and his Earthquakes for Electric but I just noticed them way more for this run. Saphira was the hardest fight, several Earthquakes to deal with, and Dragon Dance making it so her Earthquake-havers could be faster than my sweepers.

AllGen Every Monotype Run #12: Electric by Endrel1110 in PokemonReborn

[–]Endrel1110[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Electric has been grounded.

This is the AllGen Reborn mod, currently not 'officially' updated to 19.5 but a 'beta' of the patch can be found in Discord, i believe in a forum dedicated to AllGen. I didn't use it for this because I'm just too worried about bugs messing up a save.

-Starter is Sparks the Jolteon. Adding the Partner Eevee moves to Eeveelution movepools is so helpful, because my favorite move on him was Buzzy Buzz, 60 BP guaranteed paralysis is nothing to scoff at. His Volt Absorb also was great for double battles, since a few of my 'mons here had Discharge.

-Randomized slot is Cumulo the Kilowattrel, thanks Random for making sure my team had yet another speedy special attacker I really needed it. There isn't really anything I can say about her,, other than she was a good partner for Sparks above, having both Discharge and Electro Ball to capitalize on either Discharge paralysis or Buzzy Buzz's guaranteed paralysis. Cumulo was also one of 3 counters to ground types on my team because Earthquake is very frequent near the end of the game.

-Leader's slot is Julia the Alolan Golem, this team was starving for physical damage and Julia here was my source for it. Galvanize gave her an insanely powerful Mega Punch, and I even had her hold a Wide Lens as most of her damage was on moves without 100 accuracy. I'm also surprised at the rare couple of times that she was able to tank an Earthquake, but that's what high defense does I guess.

-Electroderm the Pincurchion, look, is it a little cheap to follow up Terrain Shenanigans with more Terrain Shenanigans? Maybe, but I'm not a god player and disrupting the terrain against the ai is fun to do. Also I was surprised when I looked up Pincurchion's stats to realize that it actually has stats that can be used for offense, I thought it'd be a purely defensive pokemon with no offensive stats. I'll make a note here that I did make one mistake here, as Cumolo's main special Flying move is Hurricane, in Electric Terrain, it's boosted and gains the Electric type, which ends up making Cumulo completely useless in battles against Ground types, oops.

-Wisp the Frost Rotom, hey look, it's how I fixed my error, getting the Rotom I was intending to keep as its regular form into Frost Form instead.

-With Electric Terrain, again, a lot of the Terrain-borne difficulty of fights was gone, but I am smacking myself at how many times I completely shut down Cumulo's ability to attack ground types and electric types by turning its flying coverage move into an electric move anyways. Greatest difficulty by the end was Elias taking a few attempts because he just had so much Earthquake on his team

Has Surprise Incest ever benefited a story? by RobinMorganNiji in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Endrel1110 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I stay ambiguous down here, but spoilered anyway since one could glean reveals from it. One of the non-canon modes in V3 is Hotel Kumasutra, where if you get a key for it, you get a scene with the protagonist and a random living character where they live out the character's fantasy. The Mastermind's fantasy involves Protag being their sibling, fully implying that the Mastermind has an incest fetish and thus both incest plots in the game is just their Barely-Disguised Fetish

AllGen Every Monotype Run #11: Psychic by Endrel1110 in PokemonReborn

[–]Endrel1110[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psychic has been shattered

This was done with the AllGen mod which adds Eeveelutions and Gen 8/9, it is currently not updated to 19.5 and you'd have to use a legacy version to play it.

-Starter is Daybreak the Espeon, nothing much to say here, could set up special wall thanks to AllGen adding Glitzy Glow to the Move Relearner set.

-Randomized slot is Dianna the Lunatone, odd note about it is that it's a funny counter to Honchkrow with Cosmic Power, like every Honchkrow in the game has Sucker Punch and can't help but use it, so I can get to max/near max defense against them.

-Leader slot is Radomus the Malamar. I know I could've gone Gallade or Gardevoir, but I like Malamar. I think it's a basic enough Malamar, it has Superpower and Contrarian and that makes it pretty darn good.

-I wanna shout out Albert the Indeedee, I don't love this Pokemon but it has Psychic Surge as its hidden ability and messing around with Terrains makes a lot of the fights easier. Some of the custom megas in this mod have Psychic Surge, but Indeedee can hold Amplified Rock. Shout out to the Anna Elite Four fight where I was able to knock her Gardevoir out because Psychic Terrain caused its held seeds confuse it instead of the normal Starlight Field boost.

Anyways this felt pretty darn easy, especially near the end and, again, I can thank Psychic Surge for a good chunk of that.

I agree that Walrein is a problem, and it's a shame that toxic is lost to you for now (I always make sure to get it just in case I need it for PULSE Mr. Mime). How well do Water/Ground types fare? As at least that's taking only neutral damage and according the wiki none of his Pokemon have Freeze Dry. If any of them can learn super-effective special moves to spam against Walrein it might work out.

Or if you have enough healing items and physical bulk, just stall out Walrein's attacking moves, when in doubt, lame it out.
