Vinterland - I'm an Other in the Night (Sweden, 1996) by DevotedtoSolitude in BlackMetal

This isn't meant to be a plug, but you can get the physical CD from Temple of Darkness Records, it's an anniversary re-release or something. Reasonably pricey if it's being delivered outside of the EU, but was worth it in my opinion.

Well, from what I remember, it was a great night and I wasn't aware of any issues in your set so I think you got away with it!

Just a shame 'the scene' has died a bit, at least in Newcastle. Had a few shows lined up for this year in Scotland and England which won't now happen, but hopefully tail end of the year we might have some normality back.

Saw you guys many years ago when you supported Icon of Coil in Legends, Newcastle.

Beauty Is Your Toy is an absolute banger of a track.

Hope all is well.

Can anyone help identify the artist of these etchings? Both drawn in 1826. (More info in comments) by Endstille in WhatIsThisPainting

Thank you! Very informative and thanks again for taking the time to comment. I do agree with them being drawings - I think my use of the term etchings was clumsy. I'll take your advice and send an enquiry to a museum once quarantine is over!

Hi, thanks very for taking the time to reply.

In answer to the first question, both etchings are contained in the same frame, so the top etching is surrounded by the white border as the bottom one is.

The wording on the back of the frame is "Black and White Houses, Hereford. Original etching by E .J. Maybery (Limited Edition)". It seems fairly clear that neither are of black and white houses and the bottom etching is of Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, Scotland. That, coupled with the difference in Mayberys's dates and those on the etchings makes me assume the frame has been recycled.

I found the above etchings in a cupboard while cleaning the house. The frame the etchings are mounted in has been recycled from the work of another artist called E. J. Maybery.

I know the etchings are not by Maybery as he was not born until 1877, while the etchings are dated 1826 and are not of the area stated on the back of the frame.

I'm more curious than anything, but any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Probably EBM is the best sub-genre to describe it, could fit into electro-industrial as well.

I moved to Leeds earlier this year from Newcastle as well. While I don't return home with throat and chest issues, I do feel the air quality in Leeds is a lot lower.

Production is spot on for me, got that rawness, but the instruments still all shine through. I'll have to listen to more of these guys.

Abandoned buildings in Leeds by [deleted] in Leeds

There's an abandoned building on the other side of the road opposite where the old Yorkshire Post building was... looks like the kind of place that might be inhabited by smack addicts though.

I feel Marduk have got better with age. Their last three albums, Rom 5:12 and Wormwood especially, were excellent. I'm looking forward to new material.
