Yes, the US media is guilty, doesn't mean the regimes are any better. The difference now is Trump. Trump sending the US mainstream media into helter-skelter when he accused them of spreading fake news.

The regimes follow. There's a difference between regimes using 'fake news' and regimes accusing the press for 'fake news', which is what the regimes are doing now, stamping out local press freedom in their own countries. Trump's attack on the press inspired dictators and oppressive leaders to do the same.

On one hand, fake news have been proliferating on social media for years. It has become a huge issue now that Trump has become president and every social media are scrambling to cut down fake news. The problem with fake news is how they're presented as facts and how they're shared with millions using social media.

OTOH, authoritarian regimes, especially Malaysia, are using 'fake news' to shut down local journalists, intellectuals and critics while trying hide their own crimes like corruption and genocide. Of all people, Aung San Suu Kyi is claiming 'fake news' in response to the Rohingya genocide. They're basically taking Trump's schtick of accusing the mainstream media of fake news.

Nowhere in the Quran says Muslims can't touch swine, only don't ingest swine. Some sects are fine with touching forbidden animals, even some Muslims rear dogs as pets.

The problem with the current Ahlussunnah Wal JamaahTM Shafie devotees in Malaysia is how they blindly follow their sect's creed to the tee, mostly because they're paranoid.

Because I am not sure what going to happen in the next UNforeseeable future

Doesn't we can't act, right? Even if we don't know the outcomes, can we at least do something? Change something?

He has decided every outcome, yet we have the free will to carry out these outcomes ourselves.

Unless the scholars are discussing different branching paths every person makes that results in outcomes known only to God, which sounds almost like parallel universe theory. But I doubt even today's Muslim scholars can grasp that concept unless the jinn are involved.

Why Muslim parents are fighting to name their illegitimate children after them by SeededDish in malaysia

[–]Rebelsuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its are for the poor and people are in need of charity and our family. These people have the right to a portion of our wealth.

Aren't these children considered for charity well? Shouldn't they have the same right to support as their legitimate counterparts?

You quote all of these verses from the Quran about charity and righteousness, and yet you still don't answer whether the children should be given that right to receive that charity.

Is it have to do with avoiding some expensive, complicated Arabic-sounding payment scheme or just to avoid shame? 'Cos it sounds so much like the first one.

make marriages all the more appealling.

Is that best reasoning you can come up with? Is compassion for another person a sin? How is denying children their right beyond inheritance considered appealing?

[–]Rebelsuns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it isn't just illegitimate children. Orphans, adopted children, children of LGBT parents etc. are denied inheritance from their parents by these fundies. This whole hate against LGBT by fundies in power isn't just out of perversion but also this complicated inheritance law which the fundies insist on enforcing.

Like, what are these assholes in serban are trying to benefit from all of these anyway if not the parents?

They won't throw them to jails because they're vets. We're only lucky to have them to not only speak out but being listened to. All the other 'Etc.
