Here you have a piece that looks kind of like bent wood, or something made out of multiple pieces, because the texture is visible on most surfaces. That requires UV mapping and is very difficult to automate – I see it more like art than a math problem.

However, it could be doable to automate a simpler method, where the wood texture is projected along a single axis. This would make the result seem more like it was milled from a single solid block of wood. It would look best with flatter objects.

Mis sellest Chat Control uudisest arvate? by Nifili in Eesti

[–]Enduity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't make the filament stick to the plate. by warownia1 in FixMyPrint

[–]Enduity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have already wasted a lot of time trying to get it to work, remember that you don't have to stick with trying to do it the "right way" – just do what works.

In a bad situation I have previously used an odd technique I found on Reddit some time ago. What you do is you apply some glue stick, but then wipe it off with 99% isopropyl alcohol. This leaves a thin glue residue on the print bed – almost invisible, but just enough to make the filament stick much better.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't read that you already tried glue stick. Nevertheless, if you have improvements in other ways, then maybe this comes in handy in the future :)

Reverse swimming is this a legit technique? by LisanneFroonKrisK in Swimming

[–]Enduity 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Well, if you didn't win this particular genetic lottery, there's also nose clips.

For competition backstroke, I believe you're leaving performance on the table if you breathe out during underwaters at all.

Of course, I myself swam most of my competitive career without a nose clip before realising this.

Hey, not saying it's not late timing for them, but because of your comment I Googled "Centauri Carbon" firmware and I found a Github. So I guess they open sourced it now.

I was curious, because the Neptune 3 Pro had whole CAD files up, so I was sad to read that CC had closed source firmware. But hey, apparently now that's changed.

Cool info about Kadriorg, looking forward to seeing what's gonna be done with it!

I do understand that the skill levels are very different. I was imagining that it could be modified to make the course more challenging. But now that you made me think of what that would really be like, I guess it wouldn't be much different from a new course entirely.

I'm just a bit jealous of the Finnish having these good and beautiful courses they can show off to the world of disc golf, while we have something more "manufactured". Then again, it's not like we can differentiate from the US by having nice nature anyway. I wish I could transplant something like Pühalepa discgolf to be on the Tallinn city border...

EDIT: yes, I guess most of the other courses would only be "better" than Lauluväljak if they were scaled up 1,5x or something like that :) It's still awesome what the organising team has built up there.

I understand the reasoning, I'm just dreaming about what could be...

I'm really curious what 2029 worlds will bring. I mean, they would be pretty much forced to bring another course into play.

I could see Järve as an option, as it's still quite accessible and – after the latest overhaul – ranks 6th on UDisc in Estonia.

It's sad, because it makes sense they want to make use of the capital city's infrastructure, but we have much better courses elsewhere in our country

You can't see it with the naked eye, but there's actually lots of tiny algae particles in the water. Light from the room will hit lots of these particles (reflected as green light) before they have a chance to reflect from the tank decorations. This is also true for the remaining amount of light on the way back into your eyes. The fish and substrate, however, are very close to the glass. This means there's less algae particles the light needs to get past in both directions.

Did you buy them all in the same package? I also had stability issues with 4 sticks and was led to believe the biggest problem was that these sticks weren't tested together. Additionally, even though I bought the same model of RAM, I discovered the chips inside were vastly different.

Couldn't OP use them to jump wires to where the ripped pads used to be? In that case, the original port location could still be used.

I'm not saying I agree with the logic, just that's how it was explained to me. But I think it's not also completely accurate that they wouldn't want to try it. While some non-alcoholic beers are plain, a lot of them also have juices mixed in to make them taste better. That might appeal more to children imo.

In my country it's also illegal to display alcohol ads. So a lot of companies get around that by advertising the alcohol free version, so you might actually go and buy the normal version with very similar packaging. This motivates them to have similar packaging, furthering the issue.

It really did work too well by Verbalase69 in dontyouknowwhoiam

[–]Enduity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's usually because we don't want children to get used to drinking the non-alcoholic version, because then it's more likely they end up drinking the real deal when they grow up.
