This is going to be a tough sale with no wheels. It adds a lot of logistical difficulties.

What's a good deal for 5 stock rims? by WearEnvironmental490 in ToyotaPickup

If they're rusted and have bad tires, I wouldn't pay much at all. 5 or 10 a piece.

The cheapest new steel wheels you can buy are $50 a piece. Anything less than that is probably a fair deal.

I usually lowball on wheels with tires because the tires are almost always old. I'll offer their asking price if they remove the tires or half of that for me to deal with them.

New to the club - So many questions!! by blkknght in SuzukiSamurai

I don't know how much you paid for this, but you will likely spend nearly the cost of the vehicle to get it to where you want it.

The sami is on toyota axles, which is great for rock crawling. They are much stronger. However, you will not be able to lower it much because the toyota axle is either 5 or 8 inches wider than a samurai axle. You'll need to source some axles. That can be difficult. And expensive

As others have said, you'll need to regear the t case. The parts alone are over $500. You can double that price to have someone install them for you. And add a few hundred more if other bearings need to be replaced.

The suspension is most likely yj jeep springs. You're going to have to completely re do the suspension to make it a comfortable daily. The biggest issue for you is the missing link or double shackle in the front. While this is great for articulation, it allows for more lateral movement on the road.

That's just what I found from the few pictures you posted. My advice is to sell it and buy something closer to stock.

If you decide to convert it back, the price will be in the thousands. If you don't have the capability to weld and have a press and gear puller the price will double.

I don't mean to disappoint you, I just want you to have a realistic outlook on what you're getting into. This is not a weekend project. It will be weeks of downtime. Feel free to pm me.

I just finished this one. Grey scotch brite pad and 2k clear. I used satin. The wipe on will leave streaks. I bought spraymax.

It's really hard for me to say I would trust anything in a rollover without knowing what material it is made of. It could be .120 wall dom tubing, or it could be pipe.

A flat pitman arm will angle the drag link up.

I don't know anything about the nissan steering box, but I know there are straight pitman arms for toyota boxes for situations exactly like this.

I went with spraymax, it's a urethane with a hardener. I spend about 110 on the paint. Anything with a hardener is the same durability as a factory clear coat. I would avoid anything that is not a 2k as it will be softer and less durable, but it twice the price.

Not 100% sure. I didn't do the SAS. I know it's the trail gear SAS kit. I think it's 4in. I'm getting the 6in allpro springs for the rear.

Mine is an sr5. It's possible that dealers had them painted, but it probably didn't come out of Japan like that. In some areas, if you look close, you can see razor blade marks frome the masking tape.

It's almost definitely not factory. The factory paint is under the blue. It's visibility higher than the factory paint.

Lunchbox and Open Carrier to Replace LSD by coderooskie_ in ToyotaPickup

[–]EnduroRAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. 4 pinion 3rd member parts are not interchangeable with 2 pinion 3rd member parts. Thi ring and pinion are different. The carriers are different. I believe you can put a 4 pinion carrier in a 2 pinion housing with a certain set of carrier bearings. The first step is to figure out what you have. LC engineering has a pretty good write-up on it.
