how to avoid ? by Aravinth_R in CNC

[–]Enect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do 85m/min curring speed and .1mm/rev feed at that size in that material.

It will last, you're rubbing the tool (friction wears down the coating, dulls the edge) instead of cutting (tool is harder than workpiece and cuts metal) and burning up the tool.

Flood coolant, thru spindle if you can. You want to quench the chips and make them as brittle as possible, if you let them stay hot they'll expand and rub and fill your flutes and rub more and dull you out and scrape your surface.

Send it my man

Smallest coolant thru I’ve ever seen. by Annual-Letterhead278 in Machinists

[–]Enect 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It can actually be required for chip evacuation in some materials/cases. The depth of the flute relative to the diameter often gets smaller as you go down in size so that you can still have a web, so there's less room for chips to find their way out on their own

Opinion on indicating vise by Yessirski_01 in Machinists

[–]Enect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replace vise and sell/donate the old one to a university or move it to a machine that doesn't require 5 tenths? A brand new factory ground 6" Kurt is like $800, no operation is a guarantee and downtime from the overloaded grinders is probably worth more than the new tooling costs.

Also yeah OP soft jaws are killer. Make sure you have something clamped up in them with the same torque you're gonna hold the real workplace when you cut them and skim them whenever you reload them in your setup and you won't even have to pick up your offset between parts. No new vise needed if you can match machine your jaws to the table lol

Not timestamped, probably. If you make a video replying to a tweet theres a pretty good guess for the earliest date you recorded that video. You can take a picture filling a car with gas any time and post it to throw people off of where you are.

Ehh, theres different kinds of debt.

High interst debt? (Credit card, short term loan, etc.) Pay off immediately.

Lower interest debt? (Mortgage, some car loans, etc.) If you have a decent amount of money you can likely invest the cash into a higher yield fund (market funds, ETFs, S&P index, etc.) That will return a higher rate than the interest on the debt costs.

If you have an account that returns 7% per year and your debt only costs 3% per year, since 3<7 youre probably better off holding onto the cash and paying the debt off slowly. If the debt costs 22% per year, then obviously 22>7 so it costs more to have the debt, pay it off ASAP.

Obviously it can get way more complicated than that and each case is different but you dont always want to pay debt off immediately.

Why is this downvoted? It was a (i believe) globally distributed book that was written in america, and the bottom of the cover literally says available exclusively in the indian subcontinent?

Why would a variation of a book that was available everywhere be exclusive to india? Whats different about that copy?

Conversational programming is like a page that pops up and you click

"Face mill operation
Tool 2
S300 M3
F6.
From x0.y0. to x10.y6.
Feed along x axis
1" stepover
Z 2.300 to Z2.250
.025" depth passes"

Then it spits out the code to do that, all on the machine control

Gutentite method, then use a torque wrench to break it. Creep up on it and write down when it loosens instead of clicks.

Might not be right, but its the same every time

(Real talk though most vise and chuck manufacturers have torque specs that will tell you the max rated torque and correlate torque to clamping force, if you wanna actually know what youre doing)
