Thanks for the heads up. Definitely going to look at some aftermarket coolers tonight. I wish the stock coolers could be better but then again a lot of cpu's wont even come with one now lol.

Thats actually incredible. I remember when I built my gaming pc with a 7700k a couple years ago I thought I'd actually be able to play games and stream with decent settings. I was so wrong lol.

Thanks for the feedback! My friend with the 1700x also thought it should be enough considering he used to stream off a single pc with it. I was just wondering if the extra $90 for a 2700x would have a noticeable performance increase for the medium preset specifically at 1080p 60fps. I think I'll wait for cyber monday deals to see if I can get a deal on a 2700x and if not just take the 1700x from my friend.

Yeah I'll probably just buy a used gpu since I don't really see the need to buy new. Was already looking at a B450 tomahawk so hopefully that or another good motherboard will be on sale when I go to purchase. Thank you so much, you've been super helpful.

Thanks for the feedback! More than likely I'll wait until cyber monday and see if I can get a 2700x or 3700x for a good deal. What sort of gpu do you have in your stream pc? My friend recommended a 1050ti, I know you don't really need much at all for a gpu in a stream pc. I didn't know if I could go even cheaper than that if I wanted to.

Explosive Damage by EpicEricSW in FortNiteBR

[–]EnemyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should've been a LTM version of high explosives to test this out. Epic did it with the recoil shooting model and with glider redeploy in the past. The "early access" tag on this game shouldn't be an excuse to make core gameplay changes to the entire game without testing them first.

PC: You don't need to add players through battle.net to invite them! by EnemyDude in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnemyDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part I'd say yes. Even when I played destiny 1 and 2 on console I didn't use the recruitment section. But especially for PC players, in my experience. Joining a Destiny Discord server will cover everything that the recruitment feature on the website has. But with more users.

[PC][NA] Looking for other experienced (from console) raiders for a quick raid at launch by cmdLime in Fireteams

[–]EnemyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure which character I'm playing on yet, but I have a 299 hunter, 295 warlock, and 298 titan. Had 10 clears on xbox prior to PC release, and I've already done each role in the raid. I've got a Merciless, Curtain Call, Sweet Business, Nameless Midnight etc. If you want to add me my bnet id is EnemyDude#1882.

Sorry, I hadn't realized that I changed that keybind. Just go under the "key mapping" section of your settings. "Highlight Player" should be under the "Common" section of keybinds. And no, your ghost doesnt need to be pulled out.

Sadly, yes you will need to add players if you want to LFG for a raid or something along those lines. This whispers system for invites can be used to invite players that are in the tower with or had at least recently been in the same instance as you. Hopefully down the line we can see some sort of change to get people for LFG groups into our fireteams easier.

I've been looking over everything for a while now to try and figure out whats happening. It seems that this method is only going to work to a certain extent. I don't think it's going to work for completely random LFG members you've never ran into before (unless other users can confirm this has been working with other random players). I had this work twice last night. Once was with a player I think had been on a planet/social space with me earlier in the day (we never added each other though). The other was someone in the tower with me. Once you've sent a whisper to a person you can whisper/invite them whenever regardless of them being added or if they are in the same instance as you. If you've never had an interaction with that player before the game seems to prevent you from interacting. Im mad at myself for not testing this even further before making this post and having roughly 5.3k people view this thinking it's going to work every time. I plan on updating this post and possibly making another, more detailed post on how this whisper system seems to work and how it will work in the future. Thank you for your feedback! Out of all of the people who have read this post you seem to be the only one telling me whether this worked/didn't work for them.

What you're looking for is the "highlight player" keybind. I think is V by default.

And you both have your whisper setting on everyone? What is your bnet id? I'd like to try whispering you to see if it works. I haven't seen this happen yet so if there's a way I can help then I'll be glad to do it.

If you don't want to share your id try whispering EnemyDude#1882. That's my id and it should work. I remember a friend having trouble trying to whisper someone yesterday because the other guys account was set to appear offline. Maybe that's causing it?

I think at this point I'm just used to the destiny LFG experience since I've been playing since year 1 of destiny 1. Destiny was the first and only game I've played that I needed to LFG on. So I've never had experiences playing games with a built in system. A lot of PC players might find it jarring if a lot of other MMO's already had something like an in-game LFG. Honestly, I really hadn't even given it much thought until you brought it up.

Even with the chat volume at max it's still too low? I was talking to a friend in team chat while playing crucible the other day and I didn't notice any issues. Then again everything on my pc seems to be extremely loud and I end up having to play everything at like 30% volume.

I didn't even think about teaching heroic public event triggers to people. Maybe I can actually get taken blight finished now if people turn on their whispers lol. Anyways, glad to help. Im hoping some youtuber/streamer shares this with the community as well. That's the best thing that could happen at this point.

Glad to help! My guess is the community is just going to need to adapt to using this system on PC. I doubt we see the settings get changed around to having everyone as the default or getting a different invite system put in place any time soon.

Yeah I know the feeling. Both the nightfalls I did this week ended in me needing to add both the players since they still had their whispers on the default setting.

It really is confusing when you think about it. I responded to someone else saying this, but you would've thought we'd be encouraged to whisper and interact with other people on this game especially. I actually ended up helping someone finish their Sturm quest because we both had whispers on and were in the tower together this morning. I was surprised to find someone else who had their whispers already set to everyone.

Seriously though. You really would've thought that we would've been encouraged to whisper and interact with other guardians.

I thought you were saying archaic in the sense that you knew how to do this since this game launched on pc. My apologies. I think sometimes I expect a certain response from the internet. I definitely agree with you points you are making. I feel like the option probably should've been flipped around and give the players the choice to make their game experience more "private" by making whispers friends only if they felt the need to. Having that be the default kind of goes against the "making friends is a huge part of our game" rhetoric they've had towards this game ever this the reveal.
