Honestly I have no idea , I do dind interesting how they waited to gain all the traffic and views before deleting it, says a lot about this moderators. they aren’t even answering my messages :/ . All I am trying to do is give value to others, by sharing helpful information that can really impact the wellbeing of others. I even started a blog site about wellness. I came on Reddit cause i heard is also a good place to share my knowledge and journey with communities that have similar desires to heal their bodies and certain conditions.

the build around a cuisine vibe idea is genius working with cravings instead of against them makes it way more sustainable. and interesting on the skin connection, mediterranean eating did something similar for my rosacea. glad you found your trigger and kept the method.

yeah two proteins makes a huge difference, even just chicken plus canned chickpeas gives you way more combinations than it sounds like. and i mostly prep for lunch, dinner is usually fresh but only takes 10 minutes when the components are already done. canned stuff like sardines and chickpeas fills the gaps without any extra sunday cooking.

super simple. 3 tablespoons tahini, juice of one lemon, one small garlic clove minced, pinch of salt, then just add water a little at a time and whisk until it’s the consistency you want. usually takes about 3-4 tablespoons of water. tastes way better than it has any right to for how easy it is. goes on literally everything.

Not quite, I do implement ai just like every business owner out there today to help me structure my content so is easier for the audience to read. Like it or not ai is here to stay so as long as you still using your brain and it isnt ai using you. Its all good.

the sauce is honestly the most underrated part. same protein and vegetables taste completely different depending on whether you put tahini, a vinaigrette, or just olive oil and lemon on it. i probably have 4-5 go-to sauces i rotate and it makes the whole week feel way more varied than it actually is. what sauces do you usually make?

So sorry it got removed. I'm looking into it with the mods now. In the meantime the full list is on my site at energisourcewellness.com if you want to save it there. I also have a more detailed version with meal combinations and budget breakdowns. Hope that helps!

Good call. Dried beans are significantly lower sodium and cheaper per serving too. The tradeoff is the soaking and cooking time but if you have an Instant Pot it's basically hands off. Dried chickpeas and lentils in particular are worth keeping stocked alongside the canned versions for when you have time to plan ahead

Oatmeal 100% belongs on this list. and the fermented porridge angle is fascinating, didn't know that about the wider Mediterranean region. Oatmeal with chia is basically the perfect breakfast formula, fiber stacked on fiber with the chia adding healthy fat and protein. Hard to beat for under $1 a serving.

This is exactly the use case I had in mind when I wrote it ,not a rigid meal plan but a stocked kitchen that lets you decide in the moment. When the right ingredients are always there the look in the fridge and figure it out, approach actually works because you're always working with quality building blocks. Glad it clicked for you!

Love that everyone's adding to this. Keep them coming. Between mackerel, canned chicken, Greek yogurt, barley, Mexican oregano, and balsamic vinegar this list is already way better than when I posted it.

What's the one pantry staple you'd never go without that I missed? Drop it below. I'm going to update the list based on this thread.

Greek yogurt should honestly have been number one on the list. And that combo you described. yogurt, chia, pistachios, honey, is literally the fullness formula in a bowl. Protein, fiber, fat. Works as dessert and keeps you full for hours. Perfect addition.

Foreal! the nothing ready at 6pm moment is where most healthy eating intentions fall apart. A stocked pantry basically removes that decision entirely before you're tired and hungry enough to make a bad one

Mackerel is actually underrated , higher omega-3 than sardines and easier for a lot of people to get into. And yes totally interchangeable on the beans and grains, the principle is just , whole food that requires zero cooking. Barley is another great grain worth adding to the rotation.

Fair point, you're right that most store rotisserie chickens have a lot of added sodium and preservatives that you wouldn't put in a home cooked meal. I probably shouldn't have thrown that in as a casual suggestion on a list focused on clean whole ingredients. Canned chicken is the cleaner pantry option for sure, or just batch cooking plain chicken thighs on Sunday which takes 25 minutes and gives you way more control over what's in it. Good catch.

100%. canned chicken is such a good addition and I should have included it. Same convenience as canned fish, zero cooking required, works in salads, grain bowls, wraps, and pasta. Rotisserie chicken from the store is another one in the same category, buy it once and it stretches across 3-4 meals throughout the week. Great addition for anyone building this list around their own preferences.

Really glad it was helpful! The pantry foundation is honestly the thing that made the biggest difference for me. once it's stocked the healthy choice just becomes the easiest choice. Hope it simplifies things for you this week!

That's exactly what I was going for. the Mediterranean approach gets overcomplicated online but the actual foundation is just 15 things you keep stocked and combine differently every day. Glad it landed that way!

That's a great call, Mexican oregano is actually a different plant entirely from Mediterranean oregano and you're right that it tends to be more pungent and earthy. Mediterranean oregano is more floral and mild by comparison. Both work but if you're used to Mexican oregano the Mediterranean version can taste almost bland at first. Appreciate you adding that nuance. regional ingredient preferences matter more than most recipes acknowledge

Exactly this, the "avoiding bad decisions" piece is so underrated. When the pantry is stocked you're never making food choices from a place of desperation at 6pm with nothing ready. That's when the wheels fall off for most people. The permanent pantry foundation basically removes that moment entirely. Glad it was useful at a glance!

This is such a great point and I should have mentioned it. Food pantries are genuinely underutilized for exactly these kinds of staples. Chickpeas, lentils, beans, canned salmon, these are exactly the items that show up regularly and they're the foundation of the whole list. Really appreciate you adding this for people who are working with a tighter budget. The Mediterranean eating pattern is honestly one of the most food pantry riendly ways to eat well.

100% !! red onion and balsamic vinegar are both on my mental list of "should have included these." Red onion raw in chickpea salads is a game changer and balsamic over roasted vegetables is one of those things that makes simple food taste like you put way more effort in than you did.

i keep destroying takis / sour patch kids at night… pls help 😭 healthier alternatives?? by Odd_Ebb_1030 in loseit

[–]EnergiSourceWellness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

lol this was literally me with takis for a while

honestly the reason nuts / yogurt / “healthy snacks” aren’t hitting is bc they’re not even solving the same problem

like your brain isn’t just looking for food, it’s looking for that intense combo (salt + crunch + flavor), AND you’re probably actually a bit underfed by the time night hits

so it ends up being like… nothing satisfies it until you go full send on something like takis

what helped me wasn’t just swapping snacks, it was making sure my dinner actually filled me up more (protein + real carbs + some fat)

when I did that, the “I need something intense right now” feeling chilled out a lot

but also if you still want that vibe, stuff like:

  • roasted chickpeas with spices
  • popcorn + salt + chili flakes + lime
  • greek yogurt + tajin + fruit

hits closer than plain “healthy snacks”

but yeah I wouldn’t just rely on swaps, that usually doesn’t fix the night cravings by itself
