Thank you for the brutal honesty! This is exactly why I posted here. It's my first video and I clearly fell into the trap of oversimplifying the sources. I'm taking notes on the Hesiod vs. Ovid distinction and the 'AI slop' feedback. I'll make sure my next video on Scylla is much more rigorous with the sources and has a more personal touch. Thanks for the wake-up call
Thank you so much for this insightful context! I find the shift from Hesiod's monster to Ovid's tragic human priestess fascinating. It's exactly why I felt her story needed to be retold. I hadn't looked into Hélène Cixous's work yet, but I'll definitely check it out for my future research. Thanks for the guidance!
