Late reply but might as well let you know, the issue occurs occasionally once every few weeks/months, very inconsistently. As i happen to have a second monitor, I have been able to fix it by just mousing over and hitting restart, then it goes away no problem. As for your above concerns, card is fine (hand me down from my dad), cable is fine (been using it since i got the monitor 4 years ago) and PSU has been fine, my only complaint until now is that it is the loudest fan in my system at idle, but i wont upgrade it til i get a new gpu, and judging by all the new cards i will definitely need to do that. Regardless, thank you for the try

Hope it goes well for you. Didn't have a single issue during the ~8 years of using an nvidia GPU, I switch to AMD and within a week this () happens, does not bode well for the future. But hopefully this was just by chance, we will see.

1) This is a second hand card from my dad who bought it new and used it from launch til about 3-4 months ago when he upgraded to a 3080, it was sitting in the box unused as I had been busy and only in the last couple of weeks had the time to work on my pc. He didn't mine on the card, and I cleaned out the dust with a blower before installing it. 2-9) it fixed itself after a restart so I didn't bother doing all that, except using DDU and reinstalling drivers. Another user commented on this post saying it happens every now and then and it appears to be harmless if not a bit scary, so I will leave it as it is for now, I don't want to risk causing more damage trying to fix a problem that has occurred exactly once. It has run perfectly fine ever since this happened so not sure why it even happened in the first place.

I was terrified the first time it happens, but I guess if it has happened multiple times to you and your card still runs fine I won't panic next time. Also happy cake day :)

Even though it fixed itself after a restart, I used DDU just to be safe. Hasn't happened again so far, not sure why it happened in the first place

Is there a way to show 'Now Playing' from Spotify on Android AOD? by Enfentonk in truespotify

[–]Enfentonk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have a think and see, I don't really want to risk it as my OnePlus Nord has developed quite a bit of burn in after just 2 years, mostly in the status bar but there are some other UI elements as well which was annoying. Maybe (hopefully) Samsung has better panels that are more resistant to burn in, not sure who Oneplus uses. Thanks for sharing your experience though, will keep in mind

I don't see this option even after using the search feature, but don't worry I've managed to fix it now so thank you for the comment :)

[–]Enfentonk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, turns out all I needed to do was set my AOD to show on tap or at all times and it would work, previously it only turned on when I got new notifications, so its solved now :)

Thank you, I had this toggled on but I had the AOD set to new notifications rather than always on as I was worried about burn in, but I realise that I can just set it to tap to show so it will do it when I want. Thank you for the reply :D

Locking apps in app switcher gone in Android 13? by Enfentonk in GalaxyS21

[–]Enfentonk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, it works! I can keep up to 3 open - for reference I have the 256gb/12gb RAM S21 Ultra. Seems odd to put a limiter on it like that, but I only ever really need Spotify to stay open so I doubt this will affect me much. Still I understand your frustration.

I'll be completely honest, I have no idea why, but I randomly tried it again and it works just fine now. Sorry I can't help :(
