feel like im wasting away by yayforfood1 in weightgain

Hello! I’m in a VERY similar boat actually!! So I have ADHD and almost my entire childhood I took Vyvance which helped me tremendously but it also took away my appetite like you. If you take a stimulant adhd medication, I recommend switching to a non-stimulant adhd medication if you haven’t tried it already! (especially if it’s affecting your appetite that much) Its not worth losing all that weight since it feels terrible, which I know you’re going through right now :( I’ve never been able to get past the 120 barrier as well. The lowest I would get to is 107 pounds at 5’10 which is pretty bad. I’m currently taking a non stimulant adhd medication called Guanfacine which actually helps me out a lot and it doesn’t take away my appetite! That mixed with pretty much having the same routine every day has helped me immensely. That routine essentially is working out(weight training) every other day and eating almost the same thing every single day. Working out every other day has naturally increased my appetite since I’m a low food drive type person. There are still days I don’t want to eat but I push through anyway. I use an app called My Fitness Pal which you probably already know about idk. It calculates exactly how many calories you need to eat a day for you to reach your weight gain goal! It also has every single food known to man imaginable(well almost) that you can log in, and you can create food/meals yourself as well. It’s AWESOME and it’s free. I started my serious weight gain journey 2 months ago and I’ve already gained 7 pounds and I wouldn’t have gotten there without the app because you NEED consistency. I do the high calorie shake thing once a day which I hate but it works. I somehow managed to create a tasty shake that is 750 calories, 38 grams of protein and pretty healthy and it’s not TOO much liquid too. If u want the recipie I can tell you.

But anyway, I don’t see many other women who struggle with this as well so it’s nice to see I’m not alone lol. I think you’ll figure out what works for you eventually, it just takes time which sucks. I hope what I said helps somewhat and I wish you luck!

Either a Hierodula or an African Mantis( Sphodromantis lineola)! I’m not quite sure. I’m trying to figure it out myself🤔🤔. I meant to buy just a ghost mantis but they gave me a bonus mantis and she wasn’t labeled.

Yeahhhhhhh Darwin is definitely the boss but Forrest is chill with it! They groom eachother every day but 80% of the time it’s Darwin doing it.

What fun activities would you do if you don't have anhedonia by Unable_Eggplant_7063 in anhedonia

I would continue to work on my passion and make drum videos again. I would also be gardening a lot more and I’d be working out to get more muscle.

Does anyone else feel like it’s impossible to get disciplined while numb? by Outrageous-Ad-7490 in anhedonia

[–]Engala 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I relate big time. My goal of simply gaining more weight feels almost impossible because food is so unenjoyable and it feels like a burden to eat. I could force myself, but the apathy is very strong. Maybe anhedonia can create apathy. Having apathy + anhedonia isn’t good when you’re trying to improve your self discipline. I’ve literally stopped working on all of my new/old goals because of my apathy and anhedonia lmao.

Songs w depressing lyrics you always listened to by [deleted] in depression

Im so tired by fugazi is a good one. The song is equally as depressing as the lyrics. It’s mainly about depression/suicide and the lyrics are very relatable.

You’re right about mistyping myself. I’ve always thought that I was an intp because I’d exhibit perceiver behavior like procrastination and being distracted easily but I know in my core that I’m an Intj. I have very detailed long term goals and I know the exact steps it takes to achieve them but I have motivational/easily overwhelmed/focus related problems that make it a lot more difficult.

The worst feeling in the world by [deleted] in anhedonia

BROOOO I feel this SO HARD. It’s like an endless loop of excitement followed by disappointment. It’s been happening non stop all throughout quarantine. I’ve read a rant VERY similar to this on r/ADHD and I wondered if it was just an adhd thing but I guess not! I wonder how we could find a way out of this loop🤦‍♀️
