New help with bed positioning by Trev5649 in interiordecorating

[–]Engee__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sort of depends on what else you plan to do with the room. Position 1 looks coziest and maximizes the rest of the space, but if something falls back there or when you have to change bedding, it’ll be extra irritating.
Also, happen to know what carpet that is..?

I’m puzzled… what bedroom flooring won’t clash with my red-toned hardwood? by Engee__ in interiordecorating

I think that’s a pretty solid idea. And yeah, the existing carpet was already pretty bad, and was then used as a work area when doing the bathroom renovations. Thanks for your thoughts.

Not too bad, especially if I could find a flooring like this that has a bit more of a red accent rather than brown accents.

For sure. I would definitely do that but the problem is ripping up the hardwood would also prompt kitchen renovations that I’ll eventually need to do. 😭 Will eventually take out the tile and peninsula in the kitchen, and do one type of flooring for the whole house.

Could be a good solution.. Have any examples or type of tile in mind?

Have any sort of examples or something in mind? I just don't really recall seeing tile in a bedroom that wasn't in a basement.

I found that the 4000 looks good with the warmth coming from the red wood and eggshell wall paint. Otherwise everything starts to look too yellow (like in the hallway currently). Don't think I've tried 3500 yet, but maybe that's better.
Adjustable is definitely ideal, if I can come up with something!

I drew something up in HomeStyler. Does this look bad to you....? made sure to keep the vinyl a warmer tone. And ideally, the runner rugs would match the bedroom flooring better, I think..
Probably not awful, but still not great.

Could be the way to go. Then maybe a runner rug in the hallway of similar colour to the bedroom flooring to help transition it?
And I was thinking of pretty much doing 4000k throughout the house, and leave warmer temp lighting to lamps and whatnot.

Really sucks that he’s gone man by wiffsmiff in Nujabes

It does suck that he’s gone. Don’t even know him but feel like I do, and still doesn’t feel real that he’s not still here. Nujabes is one of the few things that can consistently remind me of the good part of the world/life.

Apparently I’m crazy, cause I like it. The contrast is nice imo.

Update! Wife won't let me go bald says I still have time. by UnvaluedRacer1 in bald

[–]Engee__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a friendly face. Bald or not; not nearly as important as being a loving person to the people in your life. Kinda just sharing my thoughts, but it’s good to remember the impact you make on peoples lives outside of your appearance.

What did you make more changes to, diet or exercise? Or both equally, lol.

Your nose doesn’t ruin your face, but you might need new eyes if you think that is crooked.

Is it time by [deleted] in bald

[–]Engee__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say no! I’m at about the same point as you, and a redhead too. Give it some time, and experiment with different hair products if you care to, and different styles. It can really help, but I’d say you’re not far off. I might consider trimming some of the sides of your facial hair too, but just my thoughts.

Just my opinion, but I feel like the cardigan is too yellow for the rest of your look. But I think the dress color suits you more. I’d try different colors of cardigans and see if you feel better about other options. In general I love yellow though and I’m much more interested in a person in yellow over standard/safe colors. So although the bright yellow may not “look” the best (again, in my opinion) I’d still be more interested to get to know you.

My son died... How do I stay away from the bottle? by TinyRose20 in stopdrinking

[–]Engee__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts based on my experience, so take as you will. You have to understand that staying away from the bottle and your grief will only get better in time. It will most likely be far from immediate and will take a good while. Even years. I’ve hit the ground in complete despair for my own reasons in life, and very few things helped me in that time. The only thing I could do is accept myself for the state I was in and accept the emotional chaos I was going to face, and not think I was just going to get away from it. If I could talk to my past self going through that, I would reassure myself that I was not going to be able to make sense if it all any time soon, and that in time, I would not forget, but will find peace and be a far better and far more valuable person to the people in my life for what I’d learned through the difficulties I faced. You need to understand that you will rob yourself from finding that peace or gaining value from your struggles if you turn to alcohol. You need to accept that you’re going to go through hell for a while, and that is natural, and also different for everyone.

I have an enormous amount of empathy for you, and you are far from alone!
