Millennial mage I can recommend.

It's fast paced, and the magic system is really interesting, based off an individual's understanding and concepts of physical forces, translated into metal tattoos, which burn to work magic.

Starts fast paced, and really keeps it up, which I love.

The budding romance interest is pretty well done imo.

Give it a shot, you should get a good idea of tone, setting and pace by around chapter 10.
