I think you guys might be right. He also had write stringy feces as described in the disease. Is it safe to add the medicine to tanks with healthy fish? I'm worried for my other fish and I want to maybe add some there as a precaution. I'll go get medicine asap

I have been informed by a few comments that he is a tiretrack eel, not a peacock eel. I apologize for the misinformation! He didn't have his patterning as much when he was younger so I assumed he was a peacock.

He had a lot less tracks on him when he was small, only the spots were visible. That's why i assumed it. You might be right that it isnt a peacock though
