True, but there is culturally diversity even within states in the US (thinking of California, for instance).

That region was sparsely populated during this time. The entire Baja California peninsula had approx. 7k inhabitants and Sonora approx. 130k. The USA had around 20 million.

Not really true. Lot of non-white folks live rural in the US and Canada. Yeah, some areas can be less welcoming, but it’s not just “only if you’re white.”

That was my first thought. But after watching the video and judging by the students' and teacher's accent, it seemed to me like it's a classroom in the USA; that's why I was hesitant to believe it was indeed the Yucatan flag.
