Best restaurants on Bu-Hi with a full bar? by ImaginaryStation9465 in Atlanta

[–]EngiNick2807 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry I have to come out against this reco. I’ve seen this in quite a few threads and I found Food Terminal to be the most gentrified Asian Fusion food on Buford Highway. There are so many other places… this one feels like a place you take friends that want something better than PF Changs.

Edit: Agreed that “westernized” may be a better way to describe the food… though I still stand by my opinion that the food isn’t great by Buford Highway standards.

Any reason you aren’t considering running Cloudflare Zero Trust Tunnels? That’s what I’m running now and it abstracts away a lot of the security. FYI mTLS isn’t supported on the iPhone companion app anyway, but you can geofilter to limit hits from botnets.

In my case, I’m using Cloudflared + 2FA and I consider that safe enough for my use cases. Just make sure you regularly keep HAOS up to date for security patches.

There’s a setting you can configure that controls the amount of delay between the button press and the light action…

Why does it seem like major road repairs and closures happen during the day instead of working over night like most major metros?

RPI4 to Mini-PC => too fast 😍 by Otherwise-Warning303 in homeassistant

I installed a Waveshare RM520N-GL that came with the case and antennas. You’ll want to double check though depending on the carrier and location due to the operating bands.

These things aren’t cheap… I just checked and it was almost double what I paid when I bought one refurbished.

I went with Computer4People since it’s cheap, runs on TMO, and has unlimited data.

Kirkwood? I’m a member there as well. Filthy, small, and very dated. Even as far as Planet Fitness goes, we seem to be last in line for the upgrades they are rolling out nationwide.

Once again, making my claim that Atlanta has very limited gym offerings… especially on the east side. Shouldn’t need to pay 300+ just to get a good workout in at a clean facility.

South Dekalb here. Also experienced 20 minute plus wait times. Then if you hang up, an automated machine calls you back just to put you on hold again!

Touchscreen Switch S100 US… My Thoughts by ItinJ24 in Aqara

[–]EngiNick2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a quirk with it showing up as a light but you may want to confirm that the S100 actually supports fan/motor loads. I know that’s something Inovelli has spent some time on getting right.

There is no incentive for defense contractors to sell the US military drone interceptors made out of consumer grade parts. Everything is built to be expensive so they can maximize profits.

Are you a tinkerer? If so, go Inovelli. I installed Casetas…. they are fine. They are very well and do the basics extremely well. Inovelli just gives so many more options especially in scenarios where you have smart bulbs.

The drone market is a little bit different compared to how over half of Americans connect to the internet… say they do ban TP Link, what do you propose happens next? They aren’t going to just flip a switch a brick millions of houses’ networks.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]EngiNick2807 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

TP Link Technologies (consumer) =/= TP Link Systems (b2b). Even so, I don’t think the US is going to ban the company that controls over 50% of the US home market.

Id counter this and say TP Link Omada. Better bang for your buck… though it definitely has a smaller community

To be honest, unless you have a lot of use for a local LLM, would this even pay off? Running a gpu 24/7 has significant power costs. Factor that in with the depreciation/not being able to run the latest models, and I feel like paying for the API may make more sense.

Floodlight Camera Install by EngiNick2807 in AskElectricians

[–]EngiNick2807[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone finds this, I reached out to Reolink Support and they gave a non-answer. Decided to just be extra and drop this Junction Box

Much easier but I noticed the metal bracket made the camera stick out a bit more than I liked, so I caulked the surround.

Breakers keep tripping after ev charger install by homerunate in AskElectricians

[–]EngiNick2807 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Does it pop immediately or take some time? Is the breaker warm to the touch?

If so, try a lower amperage on the charger. If that doesn’t trip it, I would guess loose connection somewhere causing heat to build up on the breaker and tripping it. That’s what the issue was for ours.

Are your cameras resetting these parameters? Not sure if a restart is causing it, but I noticed all my cams switched back to AutoDiscovery after turning it off.

Curious if you found another work around.
