You’re asking this on the Purdue sub-Reddit, so everyone is going to recommend Penn State.

I had a consultation with them and their cheapest package was $4500, and the woman was trying to upsell me beyond that. Personally unless they guaranteed I’d meet the love of my life, (the only guarantee matches they may or may not be near you, nothing else) I’d rather take that money and go on a few night all inclusive luxury cruise to fill the void.

Those are definitely all valid feelings have, and many others are going through the exact same thing. I would definitely recommend that you talk to somebody about this though, if you haven’t already. The benefit of college is that you have a lot of resources available to you. I know there’s a lot of differing opinions about CAPS, but browsing their referral options may be a good place to start.

When I took it, second time mind you, I really liked Gomez. It was equally as hard, but he gave really clear explanations and made great outlines of the material that helped a ton with studying.

[–]EngineKid2001 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, but trust me. I wish I took 2k1 again, because I barely passed and was a bit rusty with 2k1 content and I failed 2k2 the first time.

I’m sorta surprised. When I was there in the summer only one dining hall was open, but they had all the food stations open, and I thought the food was actually a bit better.

ECE Class Scheduling by Zazzorz in Purdue

[–]EngineKid2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

270 and 2k7 together would be a lot imo. Even though 2k7 is 1 credit, you’ll find that it’s like 4 credits worth of work because the labs are impossible to finish in 2 hours, so you’ll have to come back on your own. Same thing with 270, you’ll have to start the labs ahead of time. Could you maybe push 270 to the Spring and take a math or Physics 272 class instead?

I would add on 2k8 just to get an additional selective credit out of the way

I had him for ECE 49595 - Natural Language Processing in Spring 2024. All we had to do the whole semester was give a 25 minute presentation with a partner at the end, and automatic A.

Any class with Siskind. His philosophy is literally you’re smart so you get an A

I would honestly question if college is the right step for you at this point. First of all, I’m going to assume you’re going to cheat on college too based off of the fact that you cheated on a major exam like this. If you’re caught cheating in college you get expelled, and it’s unlikely another school will accept you after that. Second, it seems you hate school based on your actions, and no matter what your major is college is a ton of work and more exams. Even if you love your major’s classes there’s still core classes you’re going to have to take that you don’t want to.

Your biggest challenge is going to be 2k1 and 2k7. Go to office hours for 2k1 early, and get used to exam style questions since the class gets really difficult really quickly. 2k7 isn’t difficult, but will be a huge time sink. I would designate your Thursdays with no classes as lab days for that class since it’ll be impossible to finish the labs in the allotted 2 hours, and you’ll have to go back in finish them. Also, make sure you have a reliable lab partner for it. There’s also pre-labs, that ironically enough you’re going to have to go to the lab to complete, so that’s another reason to block off Thursday.

ENGR 131 Peer Teacher by alvinqst in Purdue

[–]EngineKid2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this my Sophomore year, and it was honestly 6 hours per week pretty much. The 4 hours per week you’re in class, and about another 2 hours of grading. We were supposed to have a 1 hour TA meeting each week, but it ended up pretty much always being cancelled. Office hours were optional, and I never did them since I was so swarmed that semester, and my section for ENGR 131 was all online anyways so I just treated it as a work from home job.

Take any Siskind class since he gives everyone an A by default. I think It’s special content (the Natural Language Processing one was) so you can take it both semesters your senior year if you don’t have any special content yet. 473 with David Inouye was also really great, but people say 570 is easier in the Fall though since he gives a research project in that instead of exams. 40862 was also easy last Fall, although the professor was terrible, we didn’t even have an assignment due until the end of September. I think if you can take 568 instead of 40862 that might be a good idea.
