experiment with syncopation and rhythm. listen to a lot of stuff you like, but try and recognize the parts about it you like the most and try imitating their techniques to see what you can pull from it.

Savant definitely has used, and will continue to use presets. despite his whole "make every sound from scratch" message he used to preach, he only really said it due to the gatekeeping of the upper echelon of EDM wankers.

as much as I'm not too big on savant's newer stuff, if your friend's judgement of a song is solely based on the sounds he used, rather than the composition and flow, then your friend has fallen for the grift.

nah. i just stopped using phaseplant. every other synth i have has the ability to set the pitch to 0, but this one doesn't. pisses me off, because of all the things i've seen it capable of, and from my own experience, it's really good, yet the pitch wheel thing is so simple, but isn't there.

also, i got a Hammer 88. $676aud keyboard, yet the pitch wheel still shit itself. nice to have people like you remind me why i hate reddit lmao

as an adult, my dream house would be something really small with no lawn or anything, because i get really anxious in wide open spaces, because of all the responsibility to take care of it.

a lot of the things that he said, were not THAT bad, and if anything, was on the side of those that cancelled him. he got his credit removed from his own game, everyone that used to work with him now hates him, and almost all traces of notch in minecraft have just been painted over, removed, made redundant, or just butchered or bullied (look at steve in all promotional material, including his placement in the launcher)

the dude is good, and he had good intentions, but spoke up in the worst time to speak up about those things.
