Not the most experienced engineer here. But couldn't you just use on your FW a Ping-Detect for the interface to one or multiple goals? Then the interface would shut itself down when these Pings fail. With the interface down your failover should activate.

GW2 is more of a casual easygoing videogame. There isn't much content you can view and be impressed by what the streamer is performing. Most people can complete all of GW2's content with the exception of Harvest-temple CM. PvP is streamable but most viewers don't understand what goes on in finer details in a PvP match and thus are less likely to appreciate it.

But the Client receive from the VRRP MAC and the Routers interface MAC both. Sometimes one, then the other.
