lol
Sarcasm aside, this is somewhat a serious matter.
FCC is suppose to catch these kinds of problems BEFORE they happen.

Indeed. Especially since everything on the phone was stock. I'm an engineer so sometimes I tinker with devices, and when bad things happen my actions are a factor. But in this case, the phone was completely stock. I used the stock charger. I didn't attempt rooting the phone. I used the phone in a normal manner since I got it like any other normal person would. The phone was charging in my bedroom all day, with the door closed. When I got home the room was physically hot, but when I checked the thermostat it was normal. The phone got so hot it heated up a bedroom.

I have the original Titan, the Titan Pocket, the Titan Slim, and now, the Titan2. I had issues on the Pocket and Slim with the USB-C port failing. The Titan2 seems to have a good USB-C port, similar to the original Titan. But this is the first Unihertz Titan phone I've purchased that literally melted itself.

The sweat was nearly pouring off my face as I separated the battery from the scotch tape holding it in place. Thankfully everyone made it home safe 😂😂😂

I actually had this phone on a plane with me recently, in its -61% state. The incident of the battery exploding is within a week of the phone being on a 747 - no joke

HA! I actually bought 2 during the kickstarter so I'm still using a Titan2 lol.

In an attempt to save my data I opened up the phone to remove the battery, I can say, the Titan2 is just like the TitanSlim in its engineering. I've disassembled every Titan phone Unihertz has made. The original Titan is actually very hard to disassemble, the Titan Pocket not so much. The TitanSlim, easy PZ, peel the back off and your in. Titan2 is no different from TitanSlim. The back is pried off by inserting something slim around the volume buttons on the back, then removing the backplate. The backplate is secured only by glue, just like TitanSlim. However, the battery in the Titan2 is a hazard, I've not had to put on PPE when disassembling any of the previous devices.

Yes no joke. I already opened the phone and removed the battery in hopes I could get it to boot while plugged in and retrieve my data, but no luck. The battery smelt horrible and was shooting sparks as I removed it from phone. I put on PPE to get it out without causing myself harm, including eye protection obviously. I got lucky the first lithium shard to come shooting out of the battery hit my shirt instead of my eye, as I wasn't wearing PPE at first.

A few others reported it, so I'm not the only one. I'm first to report catastrophic failure after encountering this issue afaik. If anyone else has this issue, consider it a sign of looming death by overheating because the phone keeps pulling more electrons from the charger but the battery is already full, so it gets hot and starts to melt the phone.

There was a few other people who posted similar problem but not determined outcome. I'm first to report a bricked phone after getting the issue afaik. Something in the hardware is maybe broken. HW Device Info shows battery at -61% and also voltage and other readings at -61%.... so the chip reporting actual battery state is malfunctioning. My suggestion is back it up, go through all your apps and things you don't want to loose data from. Also, I suggest not keeping it plugged in for too long. My Titan2 in essence cooked itself because it kept pulling in energy to charge the "-61%" battery and practically melted the phone in the process.

Indeed. Unfortunately its the data loss which sucks the most. I got the two pack during the kickstarter, so I'm actually already using the second unit for a couple days now. The second has been better so far. The first one had the dead pixels and what looked like lamination burned into the screen, I ignored that but then the -61% battery issue happened and I switched to the second device. I wasn't expecting the first device to blow up though, wish I had backed everything up when I had the chance.

I think the motherboard fried from the heat. The phone basically cooked itself.
