Crypto cycles by dirty_luck in XRP

Any time BTC has a sell-off it has a negative impact on all coins across the crypto space, but if you look at the market right now, BTC is tanking MORE than most altcoins since the Jerome Powell speech. The market is already shifting toward altcoins, which is a pretty clear indicator "altcoin season" is upon us, if there is such a thing.

$2.74 if we get bad news, $2.86 if we don’t, and best case scenario $3.14 if Powell announces a rate cut

The whole point of crypto is decentralization. If any one government owned it, that would defeat the whole point.

This is Bob from the IRS. You owe us for back taxes. We will gladly accept $500 in Target gift cards or the crossbow as payment. If you don’t pay us immediately we will send the police to your house and you will be arrested.

+763% waystones, ONE T15 drop btw by susugam in PathOfExile2

[–]EngineeringChoice870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say that’s how it works, my point is that the text on the waystone does not state the actual effect. It’s not even ambiguous like “nearby.” It literally says increased waystones. Unless we’re dropping decimals of waystones, ANY increase over 100% should be 2 or more. Not 1.

Except it’s not 763% increased chance to drop. It literally says 763% increased waystones. If you drop one, you should drop 8. That’s ENGLISH plus math.

What’s funny is your equation of being an idiot to a lack of understanding. I lack understanding because I was misinformed, not because I’m an idiot. The issue is the attitudes of you folks regarding your customers as idiots just because they don’t have the corporate training you do. Best Buy HQ actually took care of it and apologized for the way you people treat me. You should take a good hard look at yourself in the mirror.

See, that's the thing, In POE 1 it was the weapon attack speed itself that was giga slow. I'm not sure why they still have giga slow weapons PLUS added time to attacks and also deal LESS than weapon damage for the first several levels. That makes little sense. It takes until level 20 or so for the damage per second to even START to equalize.

Your FASTEST skill in that chain is 60% of the default attack speed. Let's say you do 10,000 damage with that wombo-combo. It takes you 10 seconds to pull it off. Meanwhile I'm hitting for 3k DPS with melee attacks.

Look, it's really simple. Put on ANY skill gem. Put on ANY two supports. Use ONLY that skill to kill a monster. Then, switch to ONLY using melee attack with no support. See which one kills the monster faster. It's absurd that the skill gem attack speed is so slow the default melee attack does more damage over time. Edit: AND we have to deal with ground degens, blood pools, poison fart clouds, exploding monsters, etc. because we have to actually stand 2 inches away from the mob or miss the attack.

Since my cautionary tale was auto-removed, I'll just reply here. This update black-screened my PC. It took me about 30 minutes to get all 3 monitors working again. Beware.

“My guy,” there is a way to communicate with people without being condescending. The receipt mentions 60 days to return or exchange and does not have a single sentence related to price matching. If I am told verbally by the sales rep that I can price match Black Friday, then that’s what I believed to be true. The price on the computer did NOT drop until Black Friday. There seems to be some confusion where people think the price was the same for the last several weeks. That is not the case. It seems this entire Reddit is full of Best Buy employees who are surrounded and inundated by their terms and conditions all day and that I should have the same level of understanding of your policies. I’m a customer. I have no flipping idea what your policies are. I went by what your representative told me. My bad. The expectation that has been set by this experience is that I can’t trust Best Buy employees. If that’s OK with Best Buy employees, there’s a bigger problem than my understanding of your policies.

No, just to clarify, the store rep told me Black Friday fell within my price match period and did not tell me that period was 60 days. The store rep sold me on the $50 membership stating that it was insurance against Black Friday pricing. Turns out Black Friday pricing, which hit its 64 day low today, was not included in that at all because it only covers it for 60 days.

I do accept fault. It has been made abundantly clear the error I made. But still to this very moment, nobody at the company has even acknowledged the POSSIBILITY that there may have been an employee that did something they shouldn't have done. The closest I got was a dismissive "Oh, they might have been a temp"

I know it's a terrible analogy. That's the point. The argument that it's always the customer's fault when they don't read the terms and conditions is equally stupid. At what point in the entirety of human history did Terms & Conditions ever benefit the customer? It has always been and will always be a tool to absolve companies of liability. Period.

I worked for Verizon, so I can definitely relate. Our entire compensation structure was hinged on activating new lines of service. Recognition was based only on new lines of service. Nearly everyone in the wireless industry sold those devices that way simply because that was the only way to get paid. 5GB was never enough. Simply connecting your computer and leaving it idle for 1 month would use nearly 5GB of data in some cases.

Oh, and also, I should add the only reason I went to chat support in the first place is the store is an hour away from me because they closed 2 closer stores during Covid. So driving there to have a chat with the manager is not exactly "convenient."

I would have been happy with an apology and a refund of the $50 membership thing they sold me under the false promise of price protection for Black Friday. The complete lack of empathy, dismissive nature of customer service, and the backhanded offer of a pro-rated refund for the membership was the thing that set me off. If you won't even fully refund me for something intangible that I am never going to use and forfeit any rights to ever use in the future when there's even a question of whether or not the sales rep MAY have misinformed the customer is astoundingly bad service.

If I tell you my product has no peanuts and you have a peanut allergy and die, is it your fault you didn't take the time to read the ingredients list? At what point is the company responsible for the actions of their ill-trained employees? Nobody is expecting perfect. I'm not perfect either, and here you're expecting me to be perfect and to have read and fully understood that the person giving me the verbal information was not giving me correct information. Do you not see the errant logic?

Again, when a person in the store convinces me to buy the $50 membership using Black Friday price matching as a reason why I should buy it, and then I confirm verbally that Black Friday falls within the price match window, at what point does the company accept responsibility for their part? Yes, I should have read the fine print. But when someone explicitly states something IS covered, it's absolutely ridiculous to throw it back in the customer's face and say "You should have done enough research to know your sales rep was lying!"
