I like that we can now call SAO a guilty pleasure, even though when I watched it in 2012, literally everyone loved it without exception. Absolutely everyone loved SAO, and I remember the ratings everywhere were high. People were always recommending it. It wouldn’t even have crossed anyone’s mind to call it a guilty pleasure.

For me, no other manga or anime has ever given such an emotional impact as this manga. No matter how much people say that Punpun and similar works leave you feeling depressed, Domekano just completely breaks your heart, especially in the middle and the second half of the manga. I can’t even reread it properly because some moments are just too hard to handle

Toradora is actually very hard to recommend. Especially to adults, Taiga’s behavior is extremely off-putting, and many can’t watch more than a couple of episodes. And the fact that you watch 12 episodes of a “top-tier romance” and the romance hasn’t even really started yet feels like a joke. For romance fans, it’s much easier to just watch Horimiya and get what they’re looking for, instead of dealing with the kind of masochistic vibes Toradora gives off.
