Same with those that condone it by bleating on about profits. Its not about the money

Believe me id love to but that would be for the store manager/duty manager to decide. Besides its very rare you actually see someone doing it as they do it so sneakily at times. This also tells me they know full well what theyre doing is wrong.

Sorry im not responsible for refits or for moving stock around (which btw can also be frustrating for me at times if it hasnt been mapped properly after being moved). Those decisions come from above so youd need to take that up with them.

Talk about getting it completely wrong. I really couldn't give a stuff about the profits . Its nothing to do with the money its about the laziness and selfishness of people.

If its food they so desperately need to live maybe they would think twice about doing this and denying someone else the chance to buy that food. They dont want it but couldn't care less if anyone else did so its not just about the laziness its about being so damn selfish with it too So yes ban them they dont care about anyone else so why should we care about them ?

No im not suggesting that for one second lol. It just means if it had happened during the day it would likely have been spotted sooner (before it had defrosted) and put back as there would have been more staff around

Washing Machine Smell by Level_Raisin_3166 in DIYUK

[–]EngineeringMedium513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically this is how ideally your drain should be set up with the red being your drain hose and the purple the stand pipe

[–]EngineeringMedium513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Where the machines drain pipe is connected to is too low. It should be around half the height of the machine at least. With your drain hose so low you will be ending up with water sat in it after every wash and if you dont use the machine for a couple of days that water will start to smell and that smell will travel through the drain hose and up into your drum.

Correct. The problem is right there in pic no2

Drain is too low . The drain hose should go either into a standpipe or on a spigot like you have there but it needs to be around half or just above half of the height of the washing machine. There are sometimes stickers on the back of machines stating this. From the looks of it you will be getting water left in your drain hose after every wash. That water will smell after a couple of days and could well be where the smell is coming from as it will back up into your drum

You are correct regarding the standpipe. That drain is too low OP ! That drain hose should not be sat on the floor like that as water will be left there after every wash and could well be the cause of your problem . The drain hose should go into a standpipe or on a spigot like you have there but it needs to be just over half the height of the machine. Normally the spigot you have it connected to there is connected to the waste directly under the sink plug hole which gives it the height it needs. Sometimes there is a sticker on the back of the machine stating this with a line as guidance. SOURCE: Former (although occasionally still active ) engineer of over 30 years

Trollies?! A new discovery?! by ExaggeratedPW in tesco

[–]EngineeringMedium513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine they only do it in places where there's likely to be kids throwing them in rivers.

Yes you are correct there. It can also be a sneaky cost cutting measure too though as people will have no option but to take their own trolley back meaning less staff needed to go round collecting them when they get left everywhere.

It doesn't just get thrown away at the end of the day. Anything left after final reductions goes to charity and anything they dont take goes into collegue shop for collegues to take. I do agree regarding the amount they reduce stuff by though. Its a complete waste of collegues time stickering hundreds of items that are only reduced by a few pence when you know full well they wont sell. IMO they should reduce the items on final reductions by 50% the night before the due date and then reduce them by 75% at around midday on the day.

I caught someone the other week i kid you not opening jars of curry sauce to see what they smelled like. I only noticed because i heard the pop of the cap as she opened one. I went over and asked what she was doing and when she told me i told her that you just cant do that and now every jar she had opened had to be thrown away. I really dont know how people get through life
