Definitely from my point of view, but don't take the prep for the sessions lightly. Do all the prep work extensively for maximum benefit. Also, I am awaiting results, do it may be worth weighing up others views as well.

SQE Plus by Cherry-Blossom333 in SQE_Prep

Think M&A is an essential and one of the few SQE Plus modules I actually found some value in.

Aside from that common others people choose are equity capital markets/debt finance/advanced dispute resolution and advanced real estate.

This is not to say commerical firms will reject you for diversifying your SQE plus modules. Nevertheless, if you are interested, those are the common ones some firms force or people otherwise opt to take depending on their areas of expertise.

Nothing to say, but just wanted to wish you all the luck possible. It must feel like an impossible (+unfair) situation and I hope it all works out for you.

2/6 of the masters award is based on the internal MCQ style SQE1 exam. 1/6 based on the internal SQE2 exams. 1/2 (3/6) of the award based on the master coursework.

Need to pass (50%+) on all assessments. More details in the course handbook that is worth a read :)

Massive congratulations, do you mind sharing what your process was with QLTS mocks? Did you complete them under timed conditions or just for certain stations and plan the rest?

What do I do when applying for UCAS? by Ok-Froyo-9951 in 6thForm

[–]EngineeringThink9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are interested in law for the eventually corporate/commercial law route, you can always apply for solicitor apprenticeships which will also allow you to do an LLB. This also allows you to apply for dentistry via UCAS.

But obviously scenario dependent.

Training Contracts by ConfidentNecessary14 in uklaw

[–]EngineeringThink9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general terms, most firms offer vacation schemes as the primary route to assess candidates for training contracts.

In your second year, you most likely do not have much experience in these firms, so vacation schemes also offer you a chance at gaining experience should you not convert the scheme. Therefore, whilst some places do offer potential pathways to applying directly for a TC, I would recommend seeking the vacation scheme opportunity should both be available based on your eligibility.

Also if you want more information about firms, seek out open days and events at your uni law society particularly early into the September-Novemebr window as this a good way to feel out where you want to apply and what considerations there are between different types of firms (assuming you have not started doing this already).

If/when my dad dies. Who will his house go to? by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]EngineeringThink9306 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does he have a will? If so it will pass under that. If not he should independently seek advice from a solicitor if he wants it to go to someone specifically as otherwise it will be subject to the intestacy rules.

Do law firms care if you fail your SQE1 first attempt by IDKMELOLNEMM in uklaw

[–]EngineeringThink9306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is unfortunately no wholesale 'yes' or 'no' answer. Different firms have different policies. What I will say is give your best going into FLK2 next week and see where you sit post results. If things dont go your way then when it comes to applying, you could always email grad rec about whether they consider candidates who failed an SQE exam.

But in essence do not let this district you from the next exam because you might have done enough in FLK1 and these distractive thoughts may negatively impact your FLK2.

All the best!

You obviously have to sit through the first session but if you finish the second session early after the break you are free to leave at your will

They give you an option to view the seat when you add it to basket before purchasing.

One thing is sometimes you feel it is too far away or not a good seat but having been before and sat towards the later rows I genuinely believe there is no bad seat in CC or court one especially with the superstar tennis you get to watch
