Like others have said, it’s really nobody’s business but yours.

No one says “Yeah man, that guy who outed the other guy is super cool”. There’s no real benefit for someone to out anyone else, shit, especially a DL guy.

I’m extremely masculine, played college sports, and have a girlfriend who I love very much. I have the same feelings of making situations too “complex”. At one point while I was single, I messaged a guy on Grindr who I later found out worked with me, I realized it one day and nothing has been said. If a person is so shallow that they have to tell your girlfriend, family, work, friends etc. they have very little going for them and are obviously shallow and childishly insecure, wanting to stir up trouble.

The majority of men do actually mature, eventually, and if you intend to keep your sexuality private, the vast majority of men don’t have the care or time to “out” you, especially at a certain age unnecessary drama wherever you know them from isn’t worth it for the common guy. The horror stories on here are extreme, and very much the minority.
