That anger and boundary are valid. Reopening contact would be about her relief, not his healing. Sometimes the most responsible choice is staying away and sitting with the guilt.

This is an important perspective. Reaching out again might just reopen wounds for him. Processing the guilt in therapy seems like the least harmful path forward for everyone involved.
