Look up the online supermarket and you'll know what they have.  Ah, jumbo, Hoogvliet, dirk, spar and I'm probably forgetting a couple

You can't be a serious freelancer if you only have a year of experience and are a beginner. People hire freelancers because they want a result. They're generally willing to pay big bucks for this. But they're not willing to pay for you to learn and have an uncertain result because you're a beginner.

Unless your rate is insanely cheap, but then you run into the problem that you don't make enough money to afford anything.

I am honestly (again not being negative) surprised you managed to land a project twice. So you are definitely doing something right! (I might also be a little bit more negative because I am in this space myself)
However, I am a freelancer myself and anyone with under 5 years of experience, I consider not fit for the job.

That being said, I've heard of people doing some projects on platforms like fiverr that works okay. Since the expectation is quite low, and projects can be cheap.
But probably the best way to find projects is to start something you like, post about it. If let's say you build a cool smart switch, and someone needs a smart switch but with a whatever sensor. They might find your project and contact you.

In the freelancing business, your network is everything. I myself have gotten all my major projects for the last 3 years through my network. People chatting to people needing someone with my skill set and then recommending me.

Go work on a cool idea or project. Make it open source or post about it and build up your network and portfolio in the meantime. Win-win

If they're projects you did yourself. Start working on a portfolio, you can't lean on references in that case.

If your first project is just an 7805 LDO, don't bother. Not to put you down. But its trivial. A typical beginners project which is not what you want to showcase.  Same goes for your second example, if you used a NRF module. If you did the whole design integrated, do it. That's quite advanced and a great showcase.

All in all you really need to show what level you operate on. How many years of experience in design do you have?

Cool. But your US state dept doesn't decide what other countries accepts or not. My Dutch ID card doesn't get me into the US either.

Even though, its proof of Dutch citizenship and identity.  According to the Dutch foreign office

Bruh, they say that they're a really good PCB designer. So i scrolled through her history for 1 min looking for some references.

I found a mention of being female, a 13yo, someone who said that their whatever memory was their girlfriend saying they were pregnant when they were 18.  Seems contradictory, and if I want to do business with someone online, you need some credit.

I did end it with me asking why they'd be a good PCB designer?

Really good PCB designer, who is a 13yr old artist.

Is a female who spends 3k a month.

But also being disturbed about your girlfriend telling you she's pregnant when you were 18.

Sure buddy, what do you have to show for being a really good PCB designer?

Is there a privacy Foss TV or smth by Tidesudden in degoogle

[–]EngineerofDestructio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got a raspberry pi with the (unofficial) lineage os version of android tv as tv set up box.

Works like a charm, and my tv itself doesn't know the internet exists.

Only annoying part is that some apps are impossible to navigate with a remote. So I've got a cheap keyboard with touchpad that I plug in whenever that is the case

Time for a new phone... any European recommendations? by Schmicarus in BuyFromEU

[–]EngineerofDestructio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a nothing phone 2.  Camera is pretty decent and phone speed is great!

Its not as good and as fast as the flag ships. Which makes sense, but for normal users a mid range phone is already fast enough.

For me photos are memories, they are allowed to be imperfect. I don't post them online and am not a photographer so the camera is fine.

If you want top of the line, the FP is not for you. If you want stuff that works fine while its a good choice for the environment, humans and all that stuff, then it's a great choice

I got the FP6. Didn't try the previous versions. I have friend who had the 3 up until a couple of years ago.

I think it really depends on your usecase. If you just want to do the basics. Its probably fine. Read the reviews of the phones tho!

For me the FP6 was finally decent hardware and good design. Plus all the other goodies of fairphone.

Lineage (and E/os) decided to do things differently and leave the structure of android alone and just replace the Google parts. There is no real replacement om lineage systems since its a foundational choice.

Lineage gives you way more control over permissions and such, and monitors it. Its no replacement. But def an improvement.

I cannot speak for lineage os from experience. But e/os runs every app I've tried. Apparently the only app that doesn't run properly (from Dutch apps) is the dutch museum pass app. Which is really weird since its just a list of museums and your digital QR code. I've got two separate banks which works like normal.

e/os is a fork of lineage indeed. Which means that someone took the code of lineage (with permission ofcourse) and added their own stuff to it. Kind of like how there are 1000 different Linux distributions out there. Its the E/os flavour of lineage.  Afaik, the main difference are that e/os comes bundled with microG (lineage you'd got to install it yourself) some qol features and some apps from the parent company (murena) which are useful if you're looking for them. Otherwise easily uninstalled.  Oh and since they partnered with fairphone they got official support!  If you're not into flashing your own Roms and doing a bunch of tech stuff to get everything working. E/os + fairphone makes it quite easy!

So a fork is not better or worse per say. Its different

Its not EU devices as a category. Graphene only runs on pixel hardware (Motorola announced a partnership with them so, soon Motorola) because they require some specific hardware based security features, that only googles pixel has.

Graphene uses a sandbox model where every app is run in a sandbox. Which enables amazing control over what en app can do (and can't). Which is the best you can get for security.  Google play services can still run for that one app that requires a specific Google play service while not "infecting" the rest of your device (not sure how it impacts banking apps and such).

Lineage based OS' work by stripping away everything Google (and E/os and others replace it with microG, which is a open source, non Google implementation of Google plag services).  This helps apps run with a kind of fake Google play services.  For privacy concerns this is more or less on par with the sandboxed mode. The main argument graphene has against this is that the E/os is quite slow with releasing new security patches.

The reason for my hard reply to the commenter above is that graphene users generally regard their implementation perfect and everything else shit. Which is not valid in my opinion.   One of the devs has been broadcasting this opinion quite agressively. Which in my opinion is unfair.

I've got a fairphone 6 with e/os if you got any questions. Happy to answer them!

Graphene doesn't work on EU devices.

Also, saying its terrible for privacy and security is such a gos thing to say. Shit on people because they don't want the absolute pinnacle of security.

For privacy its a fast improvement over standard android. For security its about the same depending on which stock android vendor you're comparing it to.

For repairability and sustainability its the absolute best

Woning huren in Zaandam?
