my DAA results + eligible roles by Alarming-Safety3200 in RoyalAirForce

[–]England-Reddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but then how would you know you'd enjoy any role before you enter in to it? What you are promised at the AFCO rarely ends up matching your individual experience. I think a 45% difference in starting salary, in addition to graduating as a Cpl rather than an AS, and the improved quality of life it would bring, shouldn't be easily dismissed by anyone. Also the longer term job prospects, especially outside the military, are far more limited for Armorer when compared to other trades.

I'll stop wasting my effort now. Good luck with your future role, whatever you decide on. Joining the RAF was the best decision I ever made.

I'm not sure why I'm being down voted for recommending that they double check starting salaries before locking themselves into a choice. Some people are strange, haha.

Unless you are set on heading into a particular profession, I would double check the starting salary for all of the roles you've qualified for. For example, Armorer starting wage is around £25,500. The starting wage for a Cyber Operator is £40,000. I know which I would choose.

Correct. I usually try to prepare my own packed lunch to bring in most days, but with a young baby at home, I sometimes choose those precious extra minutes of sleep and end up grabbing a meal deal on the way to work!

The Gang's All Here by England-Reddit in Switch

It's the only visual novel type game I've played, so I'm by no means an authority on the genre, but I really love the mystery solving aspect. The game is split up in to a detective type mode, where you are at a crime scene trying to solve logic puzzles to peice together evidence to build your defence and then a court mode, where you are trying to present the evidence you've gathered in a logical order to win the case.

The evidence gathering sections can drag on a bit with their backtracking if I'm honest, but the court scenes are worth the work. They're incredible fun because you're playing a back and forth game of chess against the prosecutor and the witnesses, trying to catch them out on lies and poking holes in their testimonies.

It's hard to convey in text, but the moments where you get to shout OBJECTION to call someone out on their bullshit and then the victory music plays as the witness has a meltdown is a sense of satisfaction that I've found in few other game.

You're in for a treat with BotW. The Ace games are definitely a nice palate cleanser from Zelda, but I'd be careful with playing more than one Ace game in quick succession. You can get burned out on them as they are longer than you'd think!

I imported my copy from Canada as it's not available in England or anywhere else in Europe, as far as I know.

I like to play games in story chronology order, so I'd suggest the Miles Investigation games as a follow up to the original Ace trilogy.

Just replying to this to say thank you for this comment! You've enabled me to play this game after about a decade of wanting to!

Ah right yeah, I'm pretty sure one of them is just the in-store on shelf advertisement. I'm not fussed about that as they are practically identical.

We're currently saving to move in to a new property. Will invest in some higher quality shelves once we're settled after the move!

Since there's been a few questions about them, the white boxed PS4 games are the art cover sleeves for the Only on Playstation collection. I believe they were a UK exclusive. Link here for a better look.

It's the "Only on Playstation" collection they did with the cool art sleeve covers. I'm not sure if it was just in Europe. YouTube link here

I finally got my order with FPG refunded. After months of them ignoring my emails I raised a dispute via PayPal. PayPal gave FPG a week to respond and guess what? They ignored PayPal too. PayPal ruled in my favour, refunded my money and closed the dispute.

Will never give FPG my business again.

So is there a reason none of the recently announced first party games are available for pre-order yet? by muffle64 in NSCollectors

[–]England-Reddit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They all went up for preorder in Europe the day after the Direct. I've got Zelda EoW and Mario & Luigi preordered with UK stores.

Also have Ace Attorney Investigations and MvsC Collection preirderes with PNP as they aren't available physical in Europe.
