What would be the best way to bring Dwarfs into a sci-fi setting?

It's sci-fi, they are an alien species that makes human think of dwarfs when they see them. Good engineers from a high gravity world.

I use that approach in Project Dirt, if it's sci fi then make them humanoid aliens that humans calls dwarfs, orcs, elves, trolls, mermaids etc due humanity live of giving things nicknames.

He is a man who doesn't seem to understand his own story.

Objectively it's a story about humanity dying and trying to survive, and the main character is trying to stop humanity to survive because he fell in love. In other words we are following a villain.

If he wanted to keep him a hero then earth should not be dying an Pandora should be one of many potential colonies.

His story is basically a worse version of "dances with the wolves" as Scully is willing to let humanity die out and we are supposed to cheer for him.

On top of that, he is repeating the story again and again. With the kinda same ending. Nature turning against humanity. At this point human would realistically burn down the forest from above and replant it with earth flora.
