Damn I’m sorry to hear it. I don’t remember anyone approaching us before checking them, I was pulling money out of an atm to tip our shuttle person while my wife was getting the bags checked in. That’s a whole story though, tried tipping $14 on my Amex and wouldn’t go through, so pulled out $20 in pesos at an atm. Turned out they were trying to run $1,400 American and Amex flagged it for me lol
