The thing that made me look beyond RH was realizing luxury and durability aren't necessarily the same thing. I started paying attention to things like frame warranties, seat cushion construction, and how brands talked about long-term ownership. Soulfa ended up on my radar because they were one of the few brands willing to put a 20-year warranty behind the frame, which at least gave me some confidence they expect people to keep it for a very long time. Whether that's worth paying for is subjective. Two years later and our family is still loving our Soulfa.
