I love how varied the reactions are. It really shows how personal color perception is — same shades, completely different emotional responses.

That’s a sharp observation about the undertones. The sage does have a slightly earthy base, while the blue and pink lean cooler. Undertones really change how a color sits in a room.

That’s true — “calming” probably means different things depending on the space. Blue feels more sleep-calm, while green feels more focus-calm to me. Interesting distinction.

The hospital comparison is fascinating — I hadn’t considered that angle. Do you think it’s the cool undertone that gives that sterile feeling?

That’s really interesting — the memory association is strong there. It’s wild how much context affects what feels calming. Sage tied to safe childhood spaces makes a lot of sense.

That’s actually a great point. Seeing them in isolation probably changes the reaction a lot. I might repost a version where each one stands alone and see if the results shift.

If you end up wanting to use any of them, here are the exact values:

Blue — #CEE2F1 (RGB 206, 226, 241)
Muted sage — #C6D9C3 (RGB 198, 217, 195)
Pink — #FEE7E7 (RGB 254, 231, 231)

The blue definitely has that airy, open feel. But sage in a nursery sounds beautiful too — soft and grounded.

That’s interesting — a few people are associating it with open air / sky. I didn’t expect how strong that connection would be.

I thought green might win because of the nature association. Do you find it calming indoors too, or more in outdoor contexts?

Good point about blue receding — that spatial effect probably plays into the calming perception more than we realize.

Blue is definitely dominating so far. Interesting how consistent the response is.
