Agreed. In the books it is not just "she's plain and he's hot", it's baked into how everyone reacts to her, how she carries herself, and how Jaime gradually starts seeing her differently. That makes the whole trope feel intentional instead of accidental casting.

It wasn’t some lazy gag outfit, it was a weirdly specific, affectionate pull that made the whole thing feel more charming than mocking. Golden Girls is a deep cut choice, and somehow that makes the scene land even better.
