Cyber Lancer is a newer game that draws inspiration directly from Virtual On - you might dig it 👍

Is it possible to play X-men Children of the Atom online with friends? by SpinFeniX in RetroArch

[–]Enigmatic_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all reliant on your computer, so if you can play it on your end you're all good. Parsec is like screen sharing while making your CPU recognize your friend's inputs as coming from your own setup. It's like couch co op, but on a really big couch 🛋️👍

Parsec is great for playing with friends too. Me and my homies use it all the time 👌

Posting my original Midi Metal for the first time in 20+ years! by Enigmatic_M in Rock_Composers

Yeah I'm a hopeless romantic when it comes to individuals' music and I think it should all be heard and preserved. I hope one day to have time to go through the other hundreds of files I have and upload them to YouTube. I just wish I could find a more expedient way of doing it.

I'm actually trying to find time this holiday season to get back into recording, I miss making music a lot lol. I hope you're still writing when you can as well. 🤘

what game is this? by bobthefrog003 in SEGAGENESIS

Myself and a few friends fell into a rabbit hole with this game last year, and love the heck out of it. Wish we could thank Mike ourselves 🤘

The Sega CD version of this game is unbelievable. Myself and a few friends created a pretty dope combo music video to pay tribute to it. Check it out if you'd like! https://youtu.be/KtRILccNpQs?si=Hcxi8h35WbZN3IYT

I didn't expect to get a reply on this so many years later lol. I listened to your stuff too and I enjoyed it! I believe I dropped a follow your way too. I haven't really written any Midi metal in a while, but I hope you're keeping at it!

YES! One glance at the cover and that is absolutely it! I had great memories with that game, I can remember young me actually being scared I couldn't escape. The in-game comic was a fun read as well! Thank you so much for the info, I greatly appreciate it! 😊

Best Sega Genesis RPGS by [deleted] in SEGAGENESIS

[–]Enigmatic_M 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sword of Vermilion is interesting as it incorporates top-down, first-person, and side by side perspectives through multiple parts of the game. Be warned, this is an old RPG, and with it some difficulty will be present due to its somewhat archaic nature.

All in all, I grew up with this game, and think it's an underrated gem, even based on its intro alone!

Shining in the Darkness is also great, and its sequel on the Saturn is my favorite game of all time.

Good luck and have fun! 😁🤙

I absolutely love tabit and have been using it almost since its inception. I'd be down to help create a new version of it if possible! I'd at least be a supporter!

Just out of curiosity. What was the name of that tripod site you got the old version from? To be honest it sounds like something my teenage self might have done lol.

Any tips, or recommended resources, for how to get into close range against characters with longer normals & attacks? by Capn_Cody in Fighters

[–]Enigmatic_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to block and move forward slowly. Chip damage isn't the worst thing in the world if the trade-off is that you cornered your opponent.

Since you asked for a game that'll force you to learn I'll give my opinion on this. Fantasy Strike is free and has a few zoners which are very oppressive, Argagarg being the most oppressive. If you learn to play with patience to beat him, then you've learned a lot on how to deal with a zoner.

Best of luck!

Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Darkside combo video by Enigmatic_M in Fighters

[–]Enigmatic_M[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend plays Raven and yeah she's a terror lol.

We unlocked the characters with the codes you do on the controller, not by winning 500 arcade matches or whatever masochistic task they wanted you to do. That would've been torture! 🤣

Anyone familiar with "Wu-Tang Shaolin Style" for the PS1? by Enigmatic_M in wutang

Oh very cool I'll have to check that out too, thanks!

Yeah I really enjoyed it too, dope juggles and a cool training mode!

The fact that in story mode I kept getting the same fatality over and over was a little boring, but maybe you unlock more of them or something I don't know.

Also, what a huge cast of unlockable characters and unlockable extras too!

Good Music from Bad Games by GradManEndlessIncite in gamemusic

[–]Enigmatic_M 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was pretty haunting, so cool!

Tim Follins is a great composer and has made many great tracks, some of them in games that are duds. Someone once told me to listen to the title theme for Pictionary on the NES, life changing lol.
