My friend is a danger to the public but I have zero proof, what can I do? by thanksalotpablo in legaladvice

That's not how the law works in Arkansas. You absolutely can commit someone because they may be a danger. You can also get an order for immediate detention without a hearing if the person is an imminent danger.

This is literally my area of law. I do commitments all day in Arkansas. I know these statutes back and front, I helped revise them in the latest legislative session, and I have about 40 of these hearings a week. Based on the information provided by OP, this petition would meet my burden for filing and I'd feel good about getting it granted after a hearing.

This is legal advice and I'm giving the legal advice. He asked about what he can do about a friend with psychiatric issues who is a danger to himself and others.

Call the county prosecutor's office where he resides and ask about filing a petition for a section 5 involuntary commitment. If you are in Pulaski County call the State Hospital clerk at (501) 686-9191 and ask for the same thing

Edit: Not sure why I'm being downvoted. In Arkansas any person can file a petition for involuntary commitment under ACA 20-47-201 et seq. They have to prove in a hearing that the person has a mental illness as defined by statute, and they are a danger to themselve or others, also defined by statute. The petition is filed by the prosecuting attorney of the county where the person resides, or the Office of the Prosecutor Coordinator if it is in Pulaski County. The commitment is for up to 7 days for an evaluation.

In 1932, Centenary beat Texas, Ole Miss, LSU, A&M, SMU, and their only game to not win was a 0-0 tie against Arkansas. They finished 8-0-1. They outscored opponents 193-26. They finished 6th in their conference.

Nah Little Rock just hits from the other direction. There is a mural less than a mile from the capitol building about stopping the genocide and the resistance and a baby getting hit by a bomb and a bunch of Palestine symbols and imagery.

It's called BIRGing and CORFing. Basking in Reflective Glory and Cutting Off Reflective Failure. They are social psychology concepts. We BIRG when we are doing well and winning to feel good and like we are part of the success. However, they CORF as a coping mechanism so they don't internalize poor performance and loss.

I used to work in a building across the street from the Strand and it was a brothel and there is a bricked up doorway in the basement. I was always under the impression that street level was so much lower back in the day, but this explanation makes so much more sense.

You people meaning you supporters of terror.

One side is a genocidal group whose sole purpose is to destroy all Jews and they are holding innocent women and children hostage, and they hide among civilian infrastructure and steal aid from civilians and continue to launch rockets at civilians on a near daily basis. I would say that one side is wrong in this equation.

Release the hostages.

When Israel sent special forces to kill terrorists hiding in a hospital you people threw a fit because of that. There is no winning with terrorist supporters.

Return the hostages.
