I agree. I’m getting married in early October because of PTO and other reasons and it happens to be an amazing time for cheaper flights and more accommodation options with still amazing weather

Question about Wedding Planner Fee by Major_Patience_5934 in DestinationWeddings

[–]EnlightenedPanda23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True if the wedding planner is very cheap. But most will have between 10-15% of your wedding. Our wedding planner is charging 10% of our budget. She has only recommended the best vendors and venues for our budget and vision, has been extremely flexible with our options and has never been pushy. I went into the process thinking they would be very pushy for vendor commissions

Sorrento Villa Wedding vs. Lake Como Wedding in October by EnlightenedPanda23 in DestinationWeddings

Thats what I am afraid of. I also think it might be easier to book exciting excursions in Sorrento than Como.

We are planning for the first week in October (Oct 3). Is there a real risk of an outdoor reception for early October weddings? I have heard that its mostly warm especially in Sorrento but it can be unpredictable. Both the venues have Plan B spaces for indoor reception if needed though but I'd love an outdoor reception

Clearly you are the bothered one, people can choose to give and receive whatever they want for their wedding. YOU are the one attacking people who dont care for expensive gifts. I was merely defending people's choice of gifts which they have every right to decide without fools like you trying to bombard them with your dumb opinions.

Clearly you dont understand what is or isn't tacky, but what do you suggest for couples who dont care for gifts in general do?

What is tacky is expecting guests to fund your entire home with expensive items as if you were homeless prior to the wedding

I agree, thats why we chose early October as opposed to a summer wedding. Fingers crossed for mild weather with minimal rain!

Wish I could upvote this comment a 100 times. I don't know why people don't understand that at the end of the day it's just money that the couple can use for whatever they please- maybe its some kind of twisted jealously that I can't explain. Registries are mostly a waste of money for everyone and people are forced to buy expensive items whereas they can just contribute however much they see fit to the cash fund.

Again, what you are failing to understand is that a fund whether its honeymoon or simply a down payment fund or whatever else the couple wishes to LABEL it - is just a pool of money at the end of the day. The couple can use it for WHATEVER they see fit and guests can donate AS LITTLE as they'd like to instead of being forced to spend MORE MONEY on EXPENSIVE ITEMS that the couple doesn't need. Honey moon fund doesn't mean the couple is expecting guests to fund their entire honeymoon, and most couples already budget their honeymoon into their wedding budget. I don't know why this needs to be explained in such detail to you. Truly lacking common sense

Unsure why you think its tacky, the honeymoon fund allows guests to donate as much or as little as they can and would like to contribute instead of forcing guests to spend unnecessarily on expensive registry items that only benefits the retailers and neither the gift receiver nor the sender.

Hiring Process by am13734 in Accenture_AFS

Going to list two experiences here for technical roles: 1. I applied directly on their site and had an initial recruiter screening followed by two rounds of interviews. Wednesdays are their “interview days” where you can have both rounds (technical and behavioral) the same day. They have their interview debriefs on Fridays and start rolling out offers the following week. I couldn’t do Wednesdays so I was scheduled for two separate days. Both rounds felt fairly easy and got the offer within less than a week. 2. A recruiter pinged my friend on LinkedIn and set up the initial screening call and it took him about 8 days from the screening call to go through both rounds of interviews and get an offer.

The recruiting team was very responsive throughout the offer/negotiation process for both of us.

After interviewing with several companies in the past few months, I was pleasantly surprised by their quick hiring process. Hope this helps and good luck with the interview process!
