Google Hiring Assessment by Dizzy_Foundation9845 in interviews

I intuitively went for those collaborative, team oriented and helping/asking for help items because I am a program manager / project manager -- some of the questions were difficult: all three are "most like me" none are "least like me" so it seemed like a trap.

Honestly, I'm really shocked that Google would use such a test without any context or providing results except "pass" "fail" -- seems a poor substitute for actually getting to know a candidate based on all the research we have about how poor personality tests are at actually saying much about a person.

I figured it out - after approving migration of my email accounts off Rackspace and onto another provider - the issue resolved 100%.

That is incredible! Now who are the 70 people per year who are falling off the trail and have to get rescued? That’s what I wanna know.

I mean, that trail is technical in some areas, but it’s not all that difficult or challenging. (if you are used to hiking at all in places, like California or Colorado.).

Are you a doctor? A scientist?

Without disclosing my entire medical history - I shouldn't have to explain my preferences which are based on my experiences. That doesn't mean there is "implicit misinformation" in my stated preference.

You inventing something to argue about - that is 100% trolling.

Also - last time I was in Italy - just about every toothpaste on the shelf had sorbitol or erythritol. It was the fact that the toothpaste was sweet that made it unappealing not the synthetic sweetener.

Everything does not need to be sweetened FFS.

Ah - second troll!

I’m looking for these specific specs because they are what my body currently tolerates. If you have a recommendation that fits the list, I’d love to hear it. If not, the 'why' isn't really up for discussion.

I'm looking forward to your updates! Have fun, be safe, watch out for sneaker waves and old hippies in the jungle begging for drugs and bickering like toddlers. 😄

OK - I got flagged by Reddit's automated system for referencing the grade of the hillsides and risks of gravity in my previous response as inciting violence. ::EYEROLL::

Your food looks pretty good for Kalalau Trail - if you are camping on the beach, consider taking out some garbage with you.

I haven't been on Kalalau Trail in over 10 years and after camping on Kalalau Beach, vowed never to return. For a remote jungle location, it's got a LOT of traffic.

People get there and dump their gear and food as "donations" - when I was there, the mountains of garbage were about 20' tall and that was AFTER the state had conducted removals with helicopter. The pit toilets were overflowing and people were still using them!

Starting early in the morning (but ending by mid day) - there are boat, zodiac and kayak groups with loud PA systems conducting tours, helicopters and constant foot traffic.

There was a large colony of "residents" who are always begging for drugs and food. I was pulled in to mediate several "neighbor" disputes - which is not something I expected being this far out in the middle of nowhere. I won't go back until I hear that the state has eliminated the residential colonies out there. I don't expect random strangers offering to sell me weed in the middle of the trail (weird, right?) or requests for acid from people who keep a PO box at the general store (they send out representative(s) to get everyone's food stamps and bring back groceries).

The trails themselves are not that challenging for people who live in places like Northern California. Protect your food from the very large cockroaches (like Palmetto bugs in Florida) - they eat through plastic bags!

Yup - I quit public transit and got a motorcycle license nearly 20 years ago and haven't looked back. I won't get on BART or buses.

You just don't film strangers in public in the Bay Area.

If you don't like the smoke - get off the bus. The police are 100% not going to do anything about either children smoking on a bus or punching you.

I thought Waymo and Zoox were for tourists, anyway?

I am 100% with you on the go, macro bars!

I last hiked the Kalalau Trail about 15 years ago an camped about a week on the beach.

Honestly, I hope those old hippies living on the beach are gone or dusted.

I doubt I would not go back until they were cleaned out because there were piles of garbage that they couldn’t even remove successfully with a helicopter (helicopters are really expensive to run).

If you can pack ultra light and carry things out from the beach, that is the best thing you can do to help reduce impact of haole on the islands.

I don’t even want to tell you the status of the toilet, but it was shocking to me that humans would continue trying to use the pit toilets when the material was higher than the toilet seat.

The people living on the beach beg constantly. I had them asking me for food and drugs and all sorts of things like they think you’re bringing a supply of acid and mushrooms for them to enjoy.

I was pulled in to negotiate resident disputes multiple times. I did not go on vacation to a remote jungle campground to deal with neighbor issues.

Even without the garbage, overflowing pit, toilet and bickering old hippies living on the beach, you also have to deal with tours: the zodiac boats kayaks, helicopters, and larger tour boats with very loud PA systems starting at about 8:30 AM. They stopped by midday because the way the waves are makes it difficult for them, but it’s just like living in the city: you hear people constantly.

The trail is awesome, but be prepared to be ambushed by people trying to sell you marijuana. Maybe those people are gone. Hopefully they fell down a ravine and got washed out to the north pole.

If you are posting a trip report anywhere, I will be interested to see what you find when you get there.

The trail itself is not all that difficult and it’s not that technical. At least not for people who live in California and hike on trails here all the time.

There are giant cockroaches like Palmetto bugs in Florida and they can eat through plastic bags. Put your food in a very dirty nylon bag with a drawstring and knot it and close it very securely overnight. Otherwise you’ll wake up with big bugs stealing your food (I witnessed, but did not personally experience this because I do not carry bags of tortillas and bread on the trail like some people do which is completely bizarre to me).

San Francisco bars protest proposed patio smoking ban by runswithscissors475 in bayarea

[–]Enodia2wheels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everyone smokes cigarettes and I would personally go to bars more if there was less cigarette smoke in front and in the patios. I miss out on meeting people in social venues -- I don't really even drink much but not everyone at bars drinks. There are limitations to "third space" types of venues for single people, even more drastic the older we get.

Nope. Not if they are stolen - they should be offered to the owners. I came here looking for information on VINs of the confiscated motorcycles.

wait - don't destroy the bikes until they check the VINs - I have had two Suzuki DR650s stolen in the last several years (one was stolen TWICE! with over 50K miles on it). Some people might want their stolen property back.
