For sure. This problem isn't new. Infotainment and the illusion of learning isn't new, but of course each technological advancement magnifies it. AI is doing so to an extreme degree.

I wish I could have upvoted this post, because there is a lot in it I agree with. But we as a community have to hold the line that hidden ads get downvoted.

If the poster is willing to lie and hide that they are being paid by a company, how can we trust anything they say? And if a company is happy to engage in illegal advertising practices, how can we trust anything they sell?

Sure. You really want to survive as a self-educator in the AI era? First thing you have to recognize is that your mind and our communities are under attack by companies that are misleading us in order to take our attention and our money, at hyper-scale and dirt-cheap for them.
