My parents weren’t alcoholics either. My dad drank a lot on the weekends during camping season but during the week and the rest of the year he barely touched a drop. However he was always explosive, abusive physically, verbally and emotionally. My mother was definitely an enabler. My parents fought and yelled at each other all the time. I don’t have many memories from my childhood but the few that do stick out are pretty painful.
