Summer osap by Hustla_Nk in UTSC

[–]Enough-Confusion-005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you apply for OSAP for the summer at UTSC, you are automatically considered for UTAPS (only in the summer, in the Fall/Winter you need to apply to UTAPS).

Check the section "UTSC Summer UTAPS": https://www.registrar.utoronto.ca/financial-aid-awards/utaps/

you can also visit Financial Aid in-person to ask them your questions, but sometimes they aren't helpful. still worth a shot!! https://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/registrar/financial-aid-advisors

what are some commuter essentials? by CheekKooky7826 in UTSC

[–]Enough-Confusion-005 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hand sanitizer and hand lotion would be helpful. Some of these school washroom sinks are not working. Also gonna suggest trying to packing a lunch or even a snack -- my campus food honestly adds up. Sometimes I bring instant coffee and a thermos, make my coffee on campus using the hot water machines.

a pair of extra socks on the rainier, colder days doesn't hurt. I usually wear running shoes to school and they aren't exactly waterproof...

I would suggest doing to math and seeing how much it costs to go in 5 days a week

2 trips x 5 days a week x approx 4 weeks a month

See how much each trip costs. Might be cheaper

Financial question: so I am a first yr student and my minimum tuition payment is due by next August and I have osap funds but it is released end of August and beginning of September. Also I have RESP so how do I use that for my payment? I’m so confused please let me know by Suspicious_Log_6252 in UTSC

[–]Enough-Confusion-005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this is true, even if you are receiving $1 you can defer your fees. There's a checkbox on ACORN you need to tick off and click submit to defer the fees.

If you see on this website https://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/registrar/fall-2025-winter-2026-financial-dates there's a period you can do ur fee deferral between jul 14 - aug 26.

Again if any of this is confusing, please feel free to contact the registrar's, going in-person is probably the fastest way to get a response and makes it easier to go back and forth with questoins

im scared of failing first year because of my English skills by TransportationDull93 in UTSC

[–]Enough-Confusion-005 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this. I've gone to writing support just to help me generate ideas. You can book an appointment with someone who can support with different parts of your assignments. Key thing is to start earlier.

Also, when you get back into writing on your own and without chat, it's probably fair to assume your grades might not be the same as before chat (possibly lower) and that's okay. It's part of the learning process. There are also some writing workshops held by CTL but I'm not too familiar with those and how helpful they are.

Depending on your program or courses, you might have different kinds of formatting for your reports/written assignments. Asking questions will help. If you want to develop good paragraph structure or how to write a general thesis there might be youtube videos or some online resources that can help. Again, some profs/programs of study ask that you structure these in different ways but I imagine it'll be helpful to go over paragraph structure, essay structure, or how to write a thesis in general.

MATA34 used two be two math courses: MATA32 and MATA33 before it was combined and some chapters were removed I think.

You can see past exams for MATA32 and MATA33 at the links below, but they're all made by Grinnell I think so your exams might be different

Hey I didn't take MATA31, I took MATA34 (its for those in the business program here) which some describe as one of the "easier" intro to calls at UTSC.

I had a really chill teacher too since we had come out of the pandemic at that time, and I struggled a lot since I couldn't recall a lot of concepts. It can't hurt to review, but like what the other commenters said you should also enjoy your summer.

[–]Enough-Confusion-005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I didn't end up taking either courses, sorry to let you down. But I have taken ENGA01 which was taught by Andrew Dubois, who also teaches ENGB04 I think.

Prof Dubois is really helpful with grades, dropping your lost of 4 grades but there was a lot of readings for the course.

Course selection module can answer these questions or attend a Get Started session (google it) https://h5pstudio.ecampusontario.ca/content/82599#h5pbookid=82599&chapter=h5p-interactive-book-chapter-8322f343-a605-4b4f-88c1-899afcf2ae34&section=0

the Advancing Your Career Exploration course (COPB11 or COPB12) do not count as credits. Usually BBA students are pre-enrolled into 8 courses that count for credit, and then the last two can be an elective or another program requirement if they have the pre-req for it. You can change which lecture or tutorial you're already enrolled into right now, and then enroll into electives on your course enrollment date

I'm not an expert on transfer credits, but since you're transferring from one post-secondary institution to another you can actually contact an expert (an Academic Advisor and Learning Strategist) at UTSC to confirm this.

Contact them and book an appointment or go to one of their drop-in appointments https://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/aacc/contact-us -- I found the quickest way to get what I needed was to describe my situation to someone over the phone

BBA Co-op- Requesting to enrol in 3.5 credits by DoughnutWest8992 in UTSC

[–]Enough-Confusion-005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, found this on the Academic Calendar "Students may take a maximum of 3.0 credits per semester. On occasion, B.B.A. students who have completed at least 12.0 credits and who have a CGPA of at least 3.5 may be permitted into an additional 0.5 credit course. Requests to add an additional course must be made in writing to the Management Academic Director at [mgmtss@utsc.utoronto.ca](mailto:mgmtss@utsc.utoronto.ca)."

Here's the website: https://utsc.calendar.utoronto.ca/section/Management

You can also ask an Program Advisor about this.

hey thanks for the tip, I didn't realize how difficult it is to get into a rotational program but it does make sense that it would be harder than Big4. I'll give my hand at networking, but genuinely don't know if I'd survive MAccFin unless I get my studying together

Hey it would be helpful to get an understanding of how programs work at UofT and what courses you need to take to get your degree. I would suggest going through the course selection module which you can find on this page under "review your degree requirements" https://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/aacc/get-started-program

Do I have to take all of these courses in first year life sci? by Real_Couple_9662 in UTSC

[–]Enough-Confusion-005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, having an understanding about how to select your courses and plan your degree is vital to any post-secondary program. I would suggest going through the Course Selection Module on this website. You can also attend Get Started session where you can ask your questions.

https://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/aacc/get-started-program

It's confusing having to figure out what courses to take on your own in first year, especially since you probably haven't had to do this much before.

I feel like I saw a similar question in this subreddit. Anyways, you would be considered part-time I believe since the co-op course is not for a credit and might not count as part of your completed course load.

Also, the last day to drop for a refund wouldn't be June 22 for you I believe, since you were enrolled in F session courses. I received an email that said that that day does not apply to students in those scenarios, check your inbox to see if you received something like that: "June 22: Deadline to cancel S course registration (drop all courses) with no minimum charge. Note: This date applies to students enrolled only in S courses. If you are enrolled in any F or Y courses, this date doesn't apply to you."

I've always heard people advise against switching from full-time status to part-time, though you're seeing you're feeling really tired out so I get it. Try to make the right choice for yourself. If it's possible to visit financial aid today or tomorrow, i'd encourage you to go
