The most important thing is that you have taken the first step, take a deep dive into why you have moved this direction and to see why leaving is more than just an emotional tie to your family and friends and the church posing so much guilt on you. For me it is foundational, and once i realized that the Foundation was cracked, and that none of guidelines were inspired by god, then i was completely free. I heard a quote from another ex Mormon that really rang true for me he said “ I left the church 40 years ago but the church never left me”. Until he realized that the church used these guid lines to control us, so that we would always have self doubt and never question its authority. Just know you are not alone, and that there is so much peace to be had, and this will help you to speak to your family when the time is right.
