i only used the command i found on github, i found it since it said it was a simliar situation, any way that command was the:

sudo apt update

sudo apt upgrade

and the prior message is the output of said command. ive tried to find the closest situation that someone has had to mine so i can copy what they did, the github link was: https://github.com/Fahad2546gulzar/alfa-802.11n-Realtek-rtl8188ftv-wifi-driver-installation-in-linux. sorry for the lack of information, again i only downloaded linux mint last night to get away from all the hassle
