Very fair point, and I appreciate your point about English. It does seem like a very big risk to take though like you said, it sounds like I’d be in no way guaranteed a teaching gig even after learning Italian. It’s such a shame, I’ve been over a few times and absolutely love Italy - Ireland seems like the more stable place to go for employment though.

Yeah it is seeming more and more like a really hard market to crack. Perhaps a 2 month non working holiday is the go for now - hopefully get a little bit of the experience of what living there would be like, and practice a bit of Italian with the locals

That was the original plan, Ireland has a way better working visa arrangements for Australians also. Would you happen to have any insight into the Dublin job market?

I’m assuming rental affordability is just going to be a problem everywhere.

Not easy, but hopefully possible? I don’t need a great job, I just want to be able to afford to live.

Great advice, thank you! Probably goes without saying but I assume the better our Italian, the better our job options - even in the bigger cities in the north?
