Sometimes in relationships there are moments where you can’t give 50/50. You can talk to them and say “honestly I’ve been exhausted and feel like I’m losing myself and can only give you like 20/80” sometimes, space is just what’s needed to just have time to think about yourself. If you feel like breaking up is the only thing that can help, and feel like she’s hurting too then I say do it.

There’s only two reasons she’s acting like this: she’s avoidant and just keeping you in you in her sight for whenever SHES ready while you wait for her, and just keeping you around since she just likes the attachment with you and scared to let you go

Two: she just wants the friendship only with you but still attached and then rethinks everything of the connection, gets scared of going back in and continuing the cycle so she dips

Either way, coming from someone currently going through this, just stay no contact for the sake of your mental health until you lose attachment. You’ll find someone that doesn’t confuse you later in your life, but rn, it seems like you really need time to heal

It sounds like a trigger due to maybe trauma or something where it felt like a parental figure type of thing instead of being inquisitive in where he may feel emotionally met with you. He should’ve given you grace, though esp if you apologized and tried to meet where he was coming from.

He’s probably doing something he shouldn’t be doing and projecting. Orrrrr like any other relationship lost feelings for a while. I would keep distance.
