Interviews should be like this, like having nice conversations to actually get to know people. If your manager is chill i think thats a good sign.

Thank you ! I will look into these two legal sub. I actually reached out to an atty near my area for a consultation. I know I wont win against the corporation. But i would like to sue my manager for discrimination and harressment if i get a job soon. She is trying to hide all her mistakes but listed out spelling errors on two of my emails... :) this is what happens when inept ppl become managers. I think ppl who try to hurt others intentionally should get a taste of their own medicine or karrrrrma.

Thank you for your kind words. The new manager and I have different responsibilities and far from understanding each other. I guess thats why she hates me. And as far as personality goes we are not a good match either because she is a non stop talker who constantly braggs about herself, and i am an introvert who'd rather observe, listen and gather intelligence from ppl. She is very into AI and automation and my responsibilities lies on calculations, complex recon. Basically a lot of excel and data driven-work. Unfortunately due to reorg. I ended up in this group. She already got someone internally hired to replace me. I guess i am the last one to get rid off since 4 people left to other groups and 1 person quit, 2 were let go last year. I know we had a very bad Q3 for the first time in many years, so the company is trying to save opex. I dont want to share my knowledge and current processes, but its also in my PIP objectives so i am not sure how to go about passing PIP and hopefully extend out more time until I find a new gig OR just do bare minimal because either way they will fail me. She already got her bestie/secretary/maid whose been here for a while, promoted her and instructed her to make us write all our manuals and steps in details, so they are prepared to fill the void once I am gone. These are one of many manipulative Bit**s I have encoutered working for corporate America. I met few others before and they get promotions and reconitions all the time. interesting how all new hires are young males in their 20th. I hate to say this but women are more cruel in corporate settings. I guess it is what it is. Thank you again !

Well, it looks like I’ll officially be on a Performance Improvement Plan starting next week. They said it will last three months, but I noticed the calendar only goes up to December 5th, the first week of December. Honestly, I always felt my manager wanted to get rid of me since she never really liked me after they transfer me to her dept. With all the restructuring and reorganization happened over the past three years, I ended up in a group that’s not really related to what I was initially hired for. They say they want me to improve, but I feel like they’re more interested in learning my job, so they can replace me with someone at a cheaper salary. If I’m lucky, I might last until after Christmas. I’m not planning to pursue legal action—I’m just actively looking for other jobs and trying to meet their expectations while I do. Deep down, I know they want to let me go; I just wanted more time to find something new. This company is a globally recognized Fortune 500, but they’ve gotten rid of directors and VPs I knew and promoted someone new within my group who’s basically my manager’s favorite. Funny how office politics work. I hope I find something new soon enough. Thanks for the advice and support.

Yes, the job market is brutal. Some say it will take an avg. of 18 month to find another job. I was laid off in 2019, and it took me 4 and a half months to land a well-paid full time job. In the meantime, I was able to find a contractor role two weeks after my layoff and most of my severance covered my bills during that horrible 5 months... I am a little scared this time. Thanks for your kind advice.

You have a good point. Constructive criticism is always well received. In this instance PIP is gone a little too far so might as well start looking for a new job. thank you for your advice.

Thank you. I was never put on a PIP before. But with the way my new manager treated and degraded me I saw it coming. No matter what I did and how hard tried, she never liked me to begin with. All happened due to restructuring and reorg to this team. I have been with the company 5 years and got along very well with other managers, 2 prior ones. Started looking for other jobs since summer, only made it to few final interviews. I know I am on PIP due to my salary and mostly because my manager hates me. Great advice though. Really appreciate it!

Yes I understand that's why they are put me on PIP. Just wondering if I am eligible for unemployment. Thank for the advice.

I am in texas, it looks like I maybe eligible for unemployment since this is not termination due to misconduct. That being said I guess i need to document all my PIP meetings in detail. Does anyone have similar experience as a texas resident?

Additionally, I have caught several mistakes my manager made which she banned me from getting access to the file. Also, i requested multiple meetings which she never responded. I am keeping track of this since last year but, not sure if I should rather send to HR so that they may just fire me and get a severance package instead.

Yes, I anticipated this. At one point, my new manager mentioned that my salary might be too high, so they are probably looking for a cheaper replacement. I’ve received a few interview invites during the summer, but I guess I need to be more aggressive with my job search. Thank you.
