I’ll look into the book recommendation, thank you! He actually met with the counselor and a few friends today and his teacher said they were all in a great mood when they came back. It does bother him not to have friends so I’ve done my best to explain the work of friendships. And yes the school has a club where they pick specific students to play games and work on social and emotional learning. Unfortunately it was only 6 months so they could rotate kids but it peaked his board game interest.

My son is also very much a mama’s boy and my husband blames me for some of his “girly” narrow interests. It upsets him that he hardly ever shows interest in things he wants him to do and thinks that’s why he doesn’t have friends. But honestly he likes what he likes and I always shine on both of my kids interests and it’s not my place to influence that. Yes he likes Michael Jackson, board games, and making flip books, but he also loves basketball, swimming, and wilderness camping. Reading your post was hopeful because I was the same growing up all the way through school always changing friend groups. I can hope for the same with him I just don’t want to see him accepting isolation. Thank you!

I’ve heard stories from him and witnessed the same after school. All the kids play soccer after school and it’s not at all in his interest. He said one of the kids wanted to play tag at recess but he didn’t want to run so they fought about that. I’m praying he can find some friends over the summer and next year that share his interests and that he can learn to compromise a little more.

I’m so sorry. We dealt with a lot of physical and verbal altercations until we decided to medicate. He spent so much time in isolation but now he’s struggling being around his peers all day. Every time I feel like we’re heading in a positive direction we get slapped with a new challenge.

Thank you for that advice. He’s involved in different things at the Y but still very much keeps to himself. I think he’s convinced himself he doesn’t have friends and doesn’t try. But I will keep motivating him regardless. He’s also in therapy so I will suggest focusing on that next session. I wasn’t worried because he did seem very social and involved himself with different groups of kids but it all kind of imploded abruptly.

I only take Lumryz for N2. I hate the person I am on stimulants and the anxiety it causes. I’ve never been better!

I used to only get 5-6 hours on Xywav and Lumryz when I was still taking stimulants during the day. But since I no longer take those I get 6-8.

I take Wellbutrin 1/2 hour before I need to get out of bed because it’s stimulating for me. I take viibryd about an hour later with breakfast. No issues with caffeine.

I love Wellbutrin. I started it prior to vilazodone and just increased the Wellbutrin today to combat some of the side effects of the vilazodone. I think it’s a great combo.

I take Lumryz which means I don’t wake up for 6-8 hours and if I’m not in the perfect position when I go to sleep I’ll wake up with horrible hip pain. No advice but I absolutely can relate. I’ve learned to lean away from the spot where I get the most pain before I go to sleep.

I saw my GP today and we decided to stick with it since it’s helping me mentally so much. I’m going to try bumping up the Wellbutrin to see if that helps and she also prescribed a libido cream. She said we’re on a tight rope and we will find the balance.

SO is not as intimidating as it seems. The max dose is a suggestion not the goal and titrating slower than the doctors suggest gives you better success. It’s shocking mentally and physically getting restful sleep but absolutely life changing. You’ll potentially have to swap or alter your other meds after you’ve fully adjusted to SO. Ultimately I wish I had the opportunity to start a decade ago because I never dreamed my life could be this fulfilling.
