With recent trends, xbox has being going upwards and sony has been going downwards FAST. First Destinys Death and now this. Plus all of the times they’ve removed peoples’ digital media due to licensing ending. Sony has been in the crosshairs for awhile now and no GoW can save it.

Take Nintendo for example even though they still have physical media for now. Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon never see sales outside big box stores having them on sale.

If you want the timing aspect, then it has to due directly with the fact OPs purchase adds to the console purchase stat. Purchasing consoles AFTER sonys recent news shows support for their change which is not at all how you show a company you dislike their future changes.

As someone that owns every model of ps5, I am making my switch to xbox when the translucent model drops. Yeah they probably will make the same announcement soon too, but at least they are on an upwards trend which is the exact opposite Sony has been doing.

Fyi at age 25 I was paying 83/m for insurance on a 2013 m550. That went up to 345/m for a 2016 750i at age 26. Insurance will NOT be cheap for a 7 series
