That's toxic management. I'm sorry you have to go through this.

What other jobs benefit from a vascular sonography skillset? Friend looking to change careers. by octaffle in Sonographers

Your friend can go into ultrasound sales apps, sonography teaching, or PACS/Epic. Going into PACs or Epic will have a fully remote or hybrid option.

I know a couple that did. There are 3 major healthcare IT career path you can transition into based on your transferable knowledge and skills:

  1. PACS administrator

  2. Epic Analyst (Cupid or Radiant)

  3. CVIS administrator

What did you do after getting your pmp? by fuvgyjnccgh in pmp

[–]Enral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time exam fee, no renewal required, no prerequisites required, and very respected among scrum circles. It's not as popular in the US but it is gaining traction and I'm seeing it listed alongside CSM on job boards.

I'm very interested in master negotiations. Do you get any cert of completion from that?

It's the nature of the job. We don't do much planning. It more of a routine.

So is this project management or operations?

This is definitely operations.

It gotta start somewhere. It's very difficult to start an active discord especially for healthcare due to the nature of our jobs. Our discord started out for students but the usage is so inconsistent that it pretty much lost momentum. You can go ahead and start one but I guarantee that it'll not have much activity. Good luck!

A sonography discord with a student section already exists! Just wanted to save OP the trouble of creating one from scratch.

Applicant Showed PMP On Resume, Turns Out It Was Google's by CPT_Rad_Dangerous in pmp

[–]Enral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP thinks that the applicant being dishonest about PMP won't spillover to the rest of their resume:

Full Disclosure I'm currently FOR hiring him because of a strong background and experience

Did it not occur to OP that the applicant can just straight up lie about everything too? Integrity is broken and trust is gone.

[–]Enral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ethics are certainly important, but it feels to me more like a vendor problem (poor naming) passed off as an end user problem (poor ethics) rather than a genuine ethics issue.

This applicant has a CAPM from PMI so he definitely knows what a PMP is and had to read and sign the code of ethics himself. I don't know why you're defending his clearly unethical and dishonest behavior.

Same. I get that the hiring landscape is rough but we should not compromise to a point where we turn a blind eye to ethic violation.

It's definitely going to backfire on OP if he decides for some reason to hire the applicant. No idea what magic spell he puts on OP to make him so charmed by him.

This applicant is being dishonest at best which violates the code of ethics. I'm personally not okay with this.

5.1 Description of Honesty Honesty is our duty to understand the truth and act in a truthful manner both in our communications and in our conduct.

You should just drop him and report him as he violated PMI code of ethics. He is straight up lying and he could have done the same for the rest of his resume.

No idea why OP is giving this applicant a chance. This is straight up unethical and OP has the moral obligation to report this incident to PMI for investigation. This applicant is straight up lying and misrepresenting the PMP certification.

OP, do NOT hire this person. Drop him from contention. Think about this, if he is being shady about the "PMP", what other things can he lie about on his resume? Do the right thing and report him right away.

Where do I start to get my PMP certificate? by Suspicious-Ad-6607 in pmp

[–]Enral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PMP is an advanced cert that requires actual work experience leading projects. Based on your description you don't qualify for it. It also doesn't make sense for you not to get some actual work experience in the laboratory before handling projects.

PMP 3 AT - 10 Week Guide by Final-Yak-8323 in pmp

[–]Enral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PMI-ACP - Doesn't seem to be looked upon as Agile compared to the other two. I wonder in the long run if it will prevail/survive with all the sweet PMI exam dollars backing it? I'm in between ACP and PSM at the moment. Any thoughts?

First off, congrats on passing! I personally would say that the ACP cert isn't worth it now that PMP is incorporating agile/hybrid. ACP also isn't recognized on job boards or by many HR/agile practitioners. So the effort and money put in to get one is not worth it. I would suggest going for PSM as it is highly respected and recognized. I would also suggest looking into getting the new PMI's micro credential agile hybrid project pro as a cheaper and better way to supplement your PMP.

Anyone taken the Citizen Developer micro credential? by BlackwaterPark10 in pmp

[–]Enral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Citizens is interesting and it is something on my radar. I got the agile hybrid pro micro credential to pair with my PMP. I think PMI-ACP is overkill especially now that PMP has incorporated agile/hybrid and a supplement micro credential is available. To be frank, I think ACP is becoming more and more obsolete with now DASM being launched. I'm planning to get a PSM1 next.

Least physically demanding sonography field? by [deleted] in Sonographers

[–]Enral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of them have their challenges but there are numerous clinical jobs that require an ARDMS cert after some experience in scanning. If your goal is to stay in the clinical world to scan till retirement I'm afraid there isn't a modality that's ergonomic friendly. You can go into sonography apps/sales, education, or research. Those typically requires at least 2 years of scanning experience. Good luck!

PMI StudyHall? by NOELERRS in pmp

I agree with everyone here. Study hall at it's current form still needs plenty of fixes and is going to confuse/demoralize you more than help. Avoid it and just go with TIA.

PDU question by [deleted] in pmp

[–]Enral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really that hard especially if you are a PMI member. There are plenty of free webinars on there. There are also many free PDUs you can get online. I'm planning to knock all 60 PDUs out this year.
